If that was a piece of paper, I'd send it down the flush  And you know exactly why!
If you love learning about your conqueror so much, then go live in Turkey, it's quite easier learning their language in there....

In the 60's, almost every TC spoke Greek. I suppose they wanted to be able to communicate with their Greek countrymen, but at the end, that wasn't enough. Now, even if there is a Unification, forget about TC's wanting to learn Greek anymore. It's going to be English for everyone from now on, so get your kids into English schools, and be sure to have an English speaking family next door, so that your kids can play and learn from them the English language. For Cyprus in the future, Greek and Turkish will become the "second" language for all.

Unless something a la 60's occurs, and this time finishes with no interruptions  Not something pleasant, probably the last resort, which will be the most effective of solutions. There are not many "flawless" ways to do it otherwise.

Forgive me if I misunderstood your post, and if not, you would have been the perfect right hand man for Hitler, in charge of the gas chambers.!!!

I have many disagreements here. The Armenians are only 2000 people and the vast majority of them speak broken Greek although they were born and raised here.
As for the Latins-most of them in Larnaca- wow the situation is like a circus, half italian French English whatever. They are only a couple of hundred.

Kikapu,
Klik is an impressionable young man. I really don't blame him for his behavior.

Hitlers right arm men are the ones that taught him about us. He has been brought up with nothing good said about us, you really should not blame him.

There are no bad languages only bad people.
Learning Greek or Turkish in a United Cyprus will only do you good, and widen your horizons. There is no better tool to establish friendship with someone than talk to him in his language

And everybody speaks English on this board! (Unless they think they can insult non-GC's by typing in Greek! - which a good number of us can read anyway).

I would be a fool to deny that. I would say though that nobody in my family or that I know or associate with fall into that category.

I think Klik is a very intelligent and well educated young man. He will grow up to make his parents very proud no doubt. I just wish he would be a bit more tolerant and get to know/integrate with his distant cousins.

All he needs is just to hear once-just once- a beautiful Turkish girl talking.
Sorry to say Turkish and not TC, but I beleive the Turkish spoken in Istanbul/Constantinople by women are much more melodic than those spoken in Cyprus.

Hey Prypolizer, I get the feeling you've already heard her. You are spot on, they can charm the pants of the most loyal and faithful of us.
