tcs and the euro in 2008

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

tcs and the euro in 2008

Postby pitsilos » Mon Dec 11, 2006 5:16 pm

what are the chances of the tcs adopting the euro in 2008?

would turkey allow such a move?

settle down cyps

to have the euro as an official currency in an economy it depends on trade and aid from turkey does not make much sense imo. it would mean the reliance on ankara would have to be greatly reduced and replaced with reliance on the roc and the EU. economic independence from ankara would mean eventual political independence.

the tcs would answer to that : we agree , why dont you end the isolation ?

the question is if more richer tcs would be more or less interested in a solution.

but who knows , perhaps till 2008 , the tcs will also have the euro...

cyps, lifting of isolations and political independence are miles apart

it does make sence for the tcs to go ahead and adopt the euro, it will benefit all in the long term.

Why would it have to be an official currency for it to be used? We can use any currency we want to.
