The collapse of the illusions

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Pyrpolizer » Sun Dec 17, 2006 9:00 pm

May I also point out that the Anan plan came very quickly after the opening of the borders. None of the communities had the time to learn first hand the concerns of the other.

I believe by now the TCs have no doubt that the matter of properties is very important for the GCs. I am glad the majority of TCs today assure us that they can do the necessary compromises to satisfy the GCs on this issue.

On the other hand the GCs learned that the matter of power sharing is very important for the TCs.I believe the GCs can be very flexible on this to satisfy the concerns of the TCs.

However let's not forget the UN has put forward many ideas so far (set of ideas of Galli, the 7 points and all that stuff to which our side agreed only once and the Tc side agreed only one the last one which as we all know was the Anan Plan. Out of the 7-8 plans sumbitted so far by the UN there is not even one on which both communities agreed.

Imo ANY new proposal sumbitted by the UN will be rejected by one of the 2 sides.

So the only chance to get a solution is to agree something between ourselves. Very difficult I agree, but yet this is the only chance.

Hello earth calling pyro, reality check here, in 44 year we have been unable to agree shit with baby sitters and you still think we can get together and sort things out ourselves, we are incapable of this, both sides are incompetent of doing such a thing, our leaders cant even get together socially let alone sort out our problems.

Annan plan is partition. So I am sorry to disappoint those TCs that have dreamed for partition since the 50s and thought that their dream was coming true in 2004, but there is no way to legalize partition. They can only enforce it illegally (for as long as they can) but they should also be willing to face the consequences of such illegal action.

tut tut, why do u get so angry? you are trying to promote "Cypriotisim" on a divided island where we have grown up as TCs, you cannot sell your beliefs to people overnight, its just not possible when will you realize and come to terms with this? If we ever unite then maybe just maybe over time we can all think we are Cypriots.

VP how many times should I tell you. It has not been 44 years. In 1972 almost everything was agreed. From 1974 until 2004 you had Denktash so case closed. From 2004 until today we had Papadopoulos trying to kill the Anan Plan. So another dead period. The time starts counting from 2007.
