I have a friend who's son in law is Turkish and a really nice guy
We had a social evening last thurs night
He is from Kiraina in the north
I own a property in the south

There is so much national pride on both sides, and there were wrongs on both sides, and to quote his words and he is not a radical
"Sadly i cant see it in my life time"
he is mid 30s

I just wish someone could wave a magic wand and find a solution to keep both sides happy and get rid of the green line

We got rid of Denktash in the north and now it is your turn to get rid of Papadop in the south, otherwise forget a deal. As simple as that. evrybody is wasting his time trying to reason with Papadop and his team.

Personally I do not mind him staying where he is. He is making sure that TRNC will be permanent. Long live Papadop.

You know I m going to see the positive in all of this and what I can see is passion and lots of it on both sides. If only we diverted that passion from hate and mistrust to love support and respect for each other and we would have the recipe for a great Cyprus where all Cypriots and those who have made Cyprus their home or second home could live in a fair just free and equitable society.

Elko it sounds like you want a separate state am I correct to ask this of you?

Cheers

Humanist can you really see a just free and equitable union, knowing what you do about the ethics and values of most people here in cyprus? the greed and self interest of the second generation since the event, the politicians led by an EOKA man papadop, and can you really see the GC's sharing power and money? i think not, infact i think it will never be and that it will end up being accepted there are two countries within one island.. same as the scots and english with their own parliament.. and why not? i would suggest you all just get on with your lives and count your blessing for what you have, and reflect on those that have never had, and never will have food in their mouths and a roof over their head.. you are blessed with abundance and yet you all want more.. your politicians created the situation and yet your all blind.. open your eyes and see what you have become, a victim mentality and manipulated by the powers that be.. And whileyou live in the past you cannot see how fortunate and beautiful your life is now.. Ever hankering after what you have lost and forgetting what you have now.. Live in the present and be grateful you are alive and well fed and are free...

Papadopoulos is president just for 3 years! What about the 30 years before? Excuses excuses excuses. We are tired of them. Europeans don't want Turks in EU. They will start emigrating to EU like crazy and then who knows maybe they will demand half of EU also! We didn't have a choice to stop them from invading our island but the Europeans have and I am sure they are not so stupid to accept Turkey.

Unique Earthling would you care to enlighten me what I do for the ethics and values of people in Cyprus??

If you are referring to the isolation of TC's ... then I suggest you look again beacause if there are 120,000 TC's left in the North there's 200,000 Greek Speaking Cypriots whose rights and values are violated on daily basis by TC's and Turkey. So come again girlfriend.

It's not a matter of wanting more it's a matter of wanting what you have worked for very hard and it has been taken from you unjustly and illegally. I would like you to stop there for a moment think about my comment, think about if you are practicing what you are preaching to me about, being greatful and thankful for what you have and by that I do not mean a Greek Speaking Cypriot Refugee's property.

And actually I am beginning to like Papadopoulos, Cyprus is now in the EU and he is saying no to injustice.

By the way am coming over in the next month and would move into your home. Oh that's right you are so greatful and eveolved you are going to hand it to me, so no one gets into trouble, (how about that you would not care a bit about that would you unique, because you don't want to live in the past.
