Do you wish to measure and record the weather where you live? I have a WS-2300 (Conrad, LaCrosse, Europe Supplies) for sale.
The console displays
- "atomic" time (corrected during the night)
- indoor and outdoor temperature °C or °F
- indoor and outdoor relative humidity
- barometer (in Hg, hPa, or mb)
- 1 h, 24 h, total rainfall (in or mm)
- wind speed (mph, km.h, m/s, knots or Beaufort)
- wind direction
- wind chill
- dew point
- weather forecast icons
- weather tendency
The console has an LCD display (optionally backlit) and receives the data from outside units by wireless (max 100 m in open space, less if obstructed by walls, trees etc.) or, more reliably, by wire. Power by battery or mains (with adaptor). Note, for wireless operation, 2 AA batteries are required in the remote unit. Console uses 3 AA batteries for backup in case of power failure. Will store 175 data sets for when computer is not available.
Connects to PC via serial port. HeavyWeather software supplied, also trial version of WeatherDisplay for PC with Windows 98 or more recent. Software plots historical data, calculates numerous parameters and can optionally upload live data to the Internet, etc.
Complete with cables, CD-ROM, instruction manual (English and German), ready for installation. Excellent condition and working state, as is. It has been in use for 13 months. Would make good Christmas present for anyone.
Reason for sale: has been replaced by a fully professional model as used by the NOAA and meteorological stations. See http://www.cypenv.org/weather/ for what it can do!
Only £50 for the lot, buyer collects.
