£3000 is about the figure we are expecting to pay sometime in the next 18 months or so. We were quoted that as a rough figure for 30 foot container to include the car! From UK to Limassol

I've had three quotes -two big removers Pickfords and Brittania, one local all for 20ft container to limassol, all in range of £3500 - £4000 from remote north wales, including packing (which only seemed to be about £200 so worth it in my view). to be honest am going with the middle priced one as they seem to have more of an idea than the others! Also pointed out that we'd need to get rid of a third of out stuff for it to actually fit...
Worth thinking about the maritime insurance as an extra though if you've got nice stuff! They usually quote about 1-1.5% of the total insured plus an admin charge etc etc!!

What does that price include at the Cyprus end? Do they deliver to your door, or do you have to transport everything from the port to your home?

Personally I wanted to get everything packed for me. Mainly because I have a lot of computer equipment (that I use for my living) and I have been told I couldn't get insured if I packed it myself (this is what I was told). After getting a quote for a 40ft container (wouldn't *quite* fit a 20ft) of about £5500-6000 for door to door with full packing on the UK side when you included storage costs and insurance I went with another quote. Esp after everyone (including here... or perhaps another forum... dunno... but basically people on the net with experience with this sort of thing) said they were a high price. I then got a quote from a recommended company of about £3500 (again when you include insurance etc) with some mention of freight costs and costs changing depending on the floor of the flat I bought etc. Tops. Everything went ok (apart from the odd forgetful comment such as "Oh you want to send the car too?" two weeks before removals after I had arranged it well before with them) and I had a bill of around the quote (plus insurance etc). No worries, paid ASAP. Now I am told that I need to contact another company on the Cyprus end and pay another bill of around £2500. Nice. Strange because I was told (by a sub-sub-contracted company that actually took the stuff away) that it would definitely fit into a 20ft container. Not so cheap now. ie. about the same price as the original company quoted for a 40ft container. Ouch.

So basically make sure they spell it out to you exactly how much you will be spending fully. ie. no unexpected bill at the end once it is on the sea (ie. no choice but to pay). Or at least to the approx. Basically they were out about £2500 on mine but are perfectly ok because of some vague comment in emails of "freight costs", which of course to most of us could mean anything. We just don't assume an almost doubling of the price we thought we would pay (esp. if that £2500 is in Cypriot, which I presume it will be....). Sigh....

Cheers
