Greek Cypriot wedding dances, a question.

Postby Natty » Fri Dec 01, 2006 2:47 am

Hi, I have a question about Greek Cypriot weddings in Cyprus. Does anybody know if the traditional 'koumbari dance' is still danced? It's the one where the Groom dances with all his 'koumbari' one by one....

Random I know, but we still dance it England, and I was just wandering...

Thanks! :D

Of the three weddings I've been to this year in Cyprus -- two yes -- one no.

Generally the answer is yes

That's some good advice cypezolyli...

Well I've got a wedding coming up, but us 'koumeres' just have to dance a simple 'group' kalamathkaino' (not too sure how to spell that...:)) here in England so if you mess the steps up no one will notice, which is always nice...;) :D (well apart from the poor girl next to you that is...ouch...)...
