Hi unique-earthling and everyone else about the Lidl prices yes they are cheap, below ive listed some prices as living in germany thats where i do most of my shopping, either Lidl or Aldi,no doubt if Lidl will open in cyprus i'm sure Adli will follow.Heres that list and let me know how it compares to cyprus prices,i bet we will noitice the difference.I'm listing them in euro's-

1 Litre of milk=49 cents
Loaf of bread=55 cents
6 pack of decent 5% beer=1.69
Bottle of nice chardonnay=2.75

If you wanna know anything else price-wise let me know just to compare its nice to see isnt it?

thanks for the OJ jody, but don't tempt me or we might order a few crates from you ;)

i have done some more research and it is confirmed that Lidl are going to open in the first quarter of 2007

my sources tell me that their head offices are in pendathromos centre in limassol and they employ around 30 staff already

they will have one store on griva dhigeni in limassol, one on franklin roosevelt and one close to kolossi somewhere. i nicosia they will be in latsia & lakatamia to start with

i have also heard rumours that tesco will open a store in zakaki behind playplanet but these are unconfirmed. there will be a complex going up there where the gocarts used to be with a fullsize M&S, Next, cineplex and bowling alley

also the fassouri citrus groves will be bulldozed from zakaki to asomatos to make way for a new golf course and villa/apartment development. so the last remaining green part of limassol is also about to become a concrete jungle. how i love progress !
