Hi do they have sausage dogs over in cyprus, little ones so that i can fit one in me handbag!!!!Just kidding, we come over in 5 weeks to live permanently and i want a little dog of some sort,want it to stay little aswell and not grow into some big thing, sorry but got bit by a doberman and puts me off having a big one now, dog that is!!!.Any sort will do, i have been on the net trying to look for some dog shelters, they have one up dhekelia don't they??Anyway if anyone has one out there id love to know cheers jody xxx

They have a dog shelter in Pafos, Unique Earthling works there I think, so she will probbably be along to advise you.
They have little Cyprus Poodles here, quite small and the shelters are full of them.

BARC on Episkopi garrison are always loking for people to rehome dogs that forces families are unable to take with them. Also a big shelter in Nicosia. Please don't pay for one at a pet shop. There are so many abandoned dogs here you will have no trouble finding what you want.

I also have a contact for a privately run shelter near Moni (Between Limassol and Larnaca) but I will not give it out here. If you want it let me know and I'll get it to you.

Hi webbo thanx for that we will be living near larnaca,so anywhere down there with a dog shelter,i def won't buy one from a pet shop as i would love to rehome one,is the one up near dhekelia garrison still open?Th number for the shelter you know would be great,i will give them a call,thanx again jody xx

Dhekalia kennels BFAWS +357 24744457. Lots of small doggies (and big ones). All different colours, ages and lots of wagging tails. They are usually only open in the mornings for phone calls though (8am - 12 local time).

Thanx for all the replys i will be visiting the shelters when we get there and will let you know how i get one,just been into have a look at bfaws website and wanna take them all home!!!!

BFAWS on Dhekelia Garrison is open between the hours of 2-4 everyday including weekends. Just got my pooch from there a few months ago.
