NB: Jeg tager til Cypern på søndag, så hurtigt svar ønskes. :D

What is correct to you may be incorrect to others.

Republic of Cyprus is an independent sovereign Republic and a UN member. Part of Cyprus is illegally occupied by a foreign country. These are the facts, not opinions.

Now if you choose to use the Turkish terminology over the facts because you have specific aims, thats your right, but as you understand that would result in Turkish propaganda, and not the Cypriot view.

If you wanted to write Turkish propaganda you wouldn't be in this forum. So I hope you understand why the terminology and the words make all the difference when you write about the Cypriot issue.

You are funny. I'm not doing propaganda for anyone and if its such a big problem for you that I use the term TRNC (a term I did'nt create and which you can find listed in any encyclopidia) then I suggest you not to read my posts, thank you

re why do you attack the guy ?
firstly you have drown conclusions before you read his articles , and second the guy explained you that he is familiar with the terms and that he will use them in his articles.
so what is the benefit for your country to swear at a foreigner (and even worse a journalist ? )
at the end of the day he only has 8 posts and has shown not only knowledge but also interested in learning.

........
not to mention you are braking the forum rules.....
and the so-called cypriot hospitality...

........

martin i would like to apologise for the above behaviour. hope you realise in your visit (and from this forum) that there is not the gc and tc view....but there are way more views in both sides

Its all good - I've gotten some contacts in Cyprus now and am very excited to go there.
One banal question arise - where is there a FREEE internet hotspot in Cyprus? Cafes or hotels or whatever.

"The English word ass (meaning donkey, a cognate of its zoological name Equus asinus) may also be used as a term of contempt, referring to a silly or stupid person. In North America, the words arse and ass have become synonymous; however, in the rest of the world, ass still only refers to the donkey, rather than the arse (buttocks). It is worth noting that speakers of some varieties of English "drop their Rs" before consonants, leading to a pronunciation of arse that is quite similar to ass.
"

So now its american english in cyprus is it?

hi martin.
heres a bicommunal event for you :

On Wednesday, 5.00 pm:

Anti-fascist protest - Wednesday 6 December, 17:00pm at Eleftheria Sq.

The organized attack by a fascist gang against Turkish Cypriot students in English School was neither an isolated incident nor the work of brainless criminals. We cannot remain passive and just ignore such incident. The fascist provocation has to be answered.

Stop the War Coalition-Cy , the bi-communal platform of organizations and activists, calls for an anti-fascist protest on WEDNESDAY 6 December, 17:00pm at Eleftheria Sq. and march through the nearby commercial streets.

Ô he demonstration is supported by the following organizations: Workers Democracy, Green Party, Federation of Environ.&Ecological Organizations, Anatropi Magazine, ONED, Cyprus Indymedia , ÕÊÑ Youth (New Cyprus Party), Baraka Cultural Centre, Hands Across Divide, POST Research Institute.
For further info: Phaedon Vassiliades 99625620 / Murat Kanatli 00905338610908
