Give up on the numbers Piratis they make no difference even if they were true  what was true is the statement made above.

Copy paste from: "British Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations" propaganda website.

Wheres the independent data to back this up??

There are even videos showing the Turkish airplanes bombing cities and villages. the Turkish army occupied 37% of the island and you are going to tell me that they did so in a "polite" way?

The figures were issued after the invasion, and no international organization has disputed them. The same goes for the TC victims. Nobody denies that after the Turkish invasion had started some GCs attacked TCs in some villages (Tochni and 2-3 other villages I believe).

I told them both to stop with the names and start arguing with arguments.
Posting a hand flipping a bird was bad enough, then came the vulgar language then people started talking about how they hate each other....How sad...

Not you andri, never you. I have done my best not to make blanket statements about the GCs but I appreciate that a few unchecked remarks might have got through and I am sorry for those. I hope the overall impression I give is that the only ones that feel my rath are the ones that deserve it. The propagandists and the argueforthesakeofitists :P

Wheres your source please, Im very interested as I was under the impression that around 1500 TC died, the number of Turkish Soldiers were never revealed for obvious reasons of the high loss on the beach landings and 2000/2500 GCs were killed in the Coup.

Who said anything about polite???????

I don't blame you for not liking copy and paste because they show people like you up for what you really are. Never the less they are of the time and direct quotes. Direct quotes can never be propaganda. There are many such quotes that show the intransigence of the GC government and the way that the people went along with them. Your present government are doing exactly the same thing and you are going along with them once again. I think something might have happened in 1974  but for a reason. It is the reasons that you are doing your best to hide. Not any more, and when I see more of you talking out against your government then and only then will I think about starting to change my views on people like you. I do have one problem with the GCs as a whole and this is it......Apathy

Where is your independent source about 1500TCs that you say have died in 1974? Maybe 1500 is the total number of TC victims for both the intercommunal conflict 63-68 and the invasion of 1974 (and maybe those that died in conflicts beofre 1960)?

And when you say that the mighty Turkish troops had high losses during their invasion, and 2000/2500 GCs died during the coup, then why do you doubt that 6000 of GCs died during the Turkish invasion. You believe that the coupists in 5 days would manage to kill more GCs that the Turks did during the whole invasion?

There are no independent sources that's why I asked you for yours, all the information we have is just passed from one person to another that's why I doubt all the figures put forward. Each side manipulates these figures to support their argument, without any independent source i doubt yours as much as I do mine.

You can doubt that the number was 6000. It could be 6500 or 5500. But you can't exaggerate by saying that the number of GC dead during the invasion was even less than the amount of GC victims of the coup that lasted 5 days, or that during the invasion the Turkish army had heavy losses and GCs did not.
Also you can't make outrageous exaggerations of the kind "a mass grave in every village". Sure numbers might not be precise, but that doesn't mean we are free to say whatever comes to our mind no matter how illogical.

piratis, i believe its pointless to debate when neither parties believe in the numbers and evidence given from the other side, coz i personally believe u are just as one sided and purposfully mal-educated, as u claim I to be.

i do not believe that u had more casualties, we didnt even have an army on the island untill turkey came, hence why they came in the first place, i do know about the paramilitaries my uncle was one and i do know we have killed just as well, but the storie goes that a lot of the turkish villages had to fight to keep you out, this doesnt seem like ethnic cleansing u seem to advocate to me, does it to you?

the mass graves are still left open for ppl to go see, so i suggest u take a trip up north with your car and see them with your own eyes along with all the photos and documents, but im sure u would also come up with some crazy theory on how they have also been fabricated in order to serve the turkish propaganda. which brings me to the fact that, do u see any signs of propaganda when u cross the border to the north? or anywhere else? have you ever asked yourself why turks dont spend a quarter of the effor the greeks do on propaganda? we might not have any propretie or land to mourn about but we r happy to be alive...

my village is Lefke btw, luckily we never had to move and managed to fight the GC out, just like Elye and few other small ones after Morphou, if u come some day and talk to the elderly around here im sure u will find that most of them have a similar story on how they survived the attacks, there was definately no GC genocide over there, unless ofcourse there has been a prior aggreement within the entire village where everyone takes an oath to lie about what happened there to the future generations. (which is not impossoble i must say, but very unlikely hehehe) however u seem to be able to easily ignore the times prior to 74, when we as the TCs, with such a small number and no arms, were trying to torture you?!?! talk plenty about after 74 but lets hear more about the actual causes that made Turkey to intervene, coz turkey doesnt JUST do that, they are not the ottomans anymore and they r not america, they dont just send troops on anyone that sneezes on them, there has to be a pretty good reason, like genocide......
