whats happening out and about

:) Wonder if any one can help? I'm coming over at the end of Jan for a couple of wks, is there anything happening like a festival or celebration,
outdoor gig in the larnaca/famagusta area?
I'm fed up going to pubs/clubs and I want to do something different.

Carnival is end of February. I don't know of any major festival end of Jan. But don't worry, there is always something ;)

it is the cyprus version of mardi gras. celebrated to welcome the lent season. after the carnival there is green monday and the lenten season follows.
there is big carnival parade in limassol, there is lots of music and people wear costumes.
