Does anyone know if you have to have the compulsory training certificate and sit the test, the same as you do in the UK? Thanks.

Hi Dizey

You can own or rent a 50cc scooter on just a prov' licence here. But after 3 mths you must apply for a Cy' one (£5.00).

If you do have to sit a Cyprus test, now would be a good time to start practising riding with your crash helmet in one hand, whilst at the same time holding a bag of shopping in the other. The ability to smoke a cigarette and/or use a mobile phone whilst riding would also be an advantage, as would having a smallish child standing between your legs helping you to steer! Good Luck! 8)

Practice doing ""wheelies ? while bragging about it to a mate on your mobile . So contradictory for a nation that values life so much and yet allows these morons to create havoc in the roads. And helmets held instead of worn , what f..ng idiots are they ! Unsophisticated small minded first class idiots who disregard the law on a daily basis and yet they get away with it until of course they find out that a helmet worn would have saved their lives , too BLOODY late then
