Does anyone know if you have to have the compulsory training certificate and sit the test, the same as you do in the UK? Thanks.

You can own or rent a 50cc scooter on just a prov' licence here. But after 3 mths you must apply for a Cy' one (£5.00).

If you do have to sit a Cyprus test, now would be a good time to start practising riding with your crash helmet in one hand, whilst at the same time holding a bag of shopping in the other. The ability to smoke a cigarette and/or use a mobile phone whilst riding would also be an advantage, as would having a smallish child standing between your legs helping you to steer! Good Luck!

Practice doing ""wheelies ? while bragging about it to a mate on your mobile . So contradictory for a nation that values life so much and yet allows these morons to create havoc in the roads. And helmets held instead of worn , what f..ng idiots are they ! Unsophisticated small minded first class idiots who disregard the law on a daily basis and yet they get away with it until of course they find out that a helmet worn would have saved their lives , too BLOODY late then
