"those damned millipedes!! "

maybe some cayenne pepper sprinkled around the inside perimiter of the house, (or whereever they may be entering from) might work. they get that stuff on thier little feet, it doesn't feel too good. and it won't harm the environment or the other happy little creatures in the house.

Sounds like a good start, but would need quite a bit! They seem to come in under the doors, through the walls, under the ceiling, - pesky little beasties are quite insistent on being inside rather than out!

Driving madness, pets and such, and the fact that WE cypriots think of ourselves as the center of earth.

Driving makes me nervous mainly because of the danger of being hit by an ignorant 18 year old kid trying to prove something...
I have a dog and my wife made me adore pets a lot. Her dream is to own a range and host all sort of animals. :D
I haven't traveled far but once you see how other western european civilizations live, you think we are sooooo narrow minded....Seriously, some things are left unchanged because we learned to live 'wrong', and because searching for 'right' is...such a terrifying experience :?

P.S: sorry for my bad language usage :P

EDIT: One more, traffic!!! At least here in Nicosia. We don't want any revolutionary solutions to this problem. Just copy a city in europe for Christ's sake...

The most annoying thing about Cyprus is that its still almost seven years away and all we can do in the meantime is get every little fix of it that we can, via holidays and sites like these while we wait and save our money.

But we'll get there one day, and hopefully we'll accept Cyprus for what it is - not a Utopia, but a friendlier, quieter, less crime ridden, less taxed and less "nanny state" than the UK.

Poullos

You seem forward thinking as a Cypriot!

There are more Cypriot foreign students studying in the UK than from any other Country (except Bulgaria) so hopefully this will give a wider perspective on life.

Hi Gorillagal

No American bases in Cyprus but the British bases have been used by the American services when needed so really they don't need their own base .

The British bases are NOT there to keep the peace  .

The bases are there because Cyprus is a strategically important island in the Med for the British -- initially as a communications listening post for the old USSR and now important for the Middle East as a stop over point and again as a listening post.
