Condemnation Of English School Attack!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

DT wrote:thats my point sadik, how can somethings be a legal obligation to us when you state on numerous occassions that the govt of ROC does not represent the TC's. Its a little selective isn't it?

Its your administration that claims to represent the whole island and for the political benefit the have to legally issue their citizens who they say they represent passports and health care. Think of it this way if your administration can take steps to stop us from playing a friendly football match then they would stop issuing EU passports in a second if the cost of what they would lose politically was not significant.

I think its more of a case of 700,000GC's paying for the TC community to enjoy the services of the govt and show that they are welcoms as citizens. Its strange though that we never hear any compaining about the free stuff the TC's get. If they are so independant and they have their own govt then why do they need a foreign govt to provide them with these things?

Free electricity? When? One-or two years ago i remember that we bought electricty from ROC. It was not free!

Free health care for the ones who have became a citizen of ROC or who renewed their citizenship. For example i'm not the one of those who has ROC ID card and passport still.

Being independent can not be evaluated with taking help about electricity. from other country. It's related completly with resources.

Piratis, not one pupil injured but five pupils injured. You can read this also from Alithia Newspaper.

no they just advantage of something put before them, a freebie. They still return to the TRNC for residency. If it is not politically a benefit to the "RoC" feel to stop it at any time or take back the EU passports, the damage to your administrations credibility would be irreversible.

DT wrote:Firstly, may I correct something. The english school is my old school. In my time (88-93) we were paying (our parents) £5-6,000 per year for this. It is a fact that TC's receive this for free as the government is subsidising them. I'd expect a big thank you first of all before anything else for the free education on the most highly rated school on the island, and then we can move on to everything else.

(still pissed off that my parents had to pay and the TC's don't)

i dont know how much you paid but in your schools webside the fees for 2005-6 are between 2800-2890 pounds per year

second , you are again misinformed.
when in 2003 the first 22 Turkish Cypriot students entered the english school the government off erred a full- scholarship , to all of them. 18 accepted, 4 rejected and pay the fees.

since then the Turkish Cypriot students rose to 65 . the additional students now share a 20000 pounds grant given by the government.
which hardly covers 15% of the annual fees at the english school

re-check your facts , because accorcding to my understanding a 15% fund is way different from a free education.

for 20000 pounds we demand a big thanks

.

As a result of the dynamics generated by the then forthcoming accession of Cyprus to the European Union, the Turkish occupation army was forced to partially lift its restrictions on the freedom of movement across the "green line", which forcibly divides Cyprus, in April 2003, Since then, approximately 2.3. million visits by Greek-Cypriots took place to the occupied areas. During these visits, Greek-Cypriots spent more than US $57 Million

57,309 Turkish-Cypriots have acquired Republic of Cyprus identity cards.

6.

32,185 Turkish-Cypriots have acquired Republic of Cyprus passports.

7.

2,659 Turkish-Cypriots are registered with the Social Insurance Services (SIS) and are employed in the government-controlled areas of the Republic of Cyprus that are situated south of the "green line". An additional 5,000 Turkish-Cypriots are employed
in the government controlled areas without SIS registration. According to those estimates and the average monthly salary, which amounts to about US $1400 these Turkish-Cypriots have since April 2003 received approximately US $246 million in salaries.

arrogant neo-rich, neo-cypriot

first , it would be nice if you could share your sources with us.

As a result of the dynamics generated by the then forthcoming accession of Cyprus to the European Union, the Turkish occupation army was forced to partially lift its restrictions on the freedom of movement across the "green line", which forcibly divides Cyprus, in April 2003, Since then, approximately 2.3. million visits by Greek-Cypriots took place to the occupied areas. those who spend, can demand a thanks for this. if you didnot spend i cannot see how you can demand thanks from someone elses money.
it would be interested to know how much money the tc spend in the south... oops this information is again not important

In 2003 and 2004, the government of Cyprus paid social insurance pensions to Turkish-Cypriots totalling more than US $43 million

were these people qualified for receiving that insurance ?

Since April 2003, more than 24,000 Turkish-Cypriots have been provided with free medical care at the public hospitals and medical centers of the Republic of Cyprus. The cost of this treatment exceeds US $9 million

this is the one that irritates me the most.
when one provides free medical care it is because he thinks it is the right think to do. becuase it is the human thing to do.
when you go on praging about it , and even worse DEMANDING 9m thanks for it , it would be better not to provide it.

63,592 Turkish-Cypriots have acquired Republic of Cyprus birth certificates.

they are citizens of this country, and just like you they can acquire a birth certificate. this is not an act of good will, this is an obligation from the side fo the goverment

lets demand some gratitude for our obligations!!

5.

57,309 Turkish-Cypriots have acquired Republic of Cyprus identity cards.

6.

32,185 Turkish-Cypriots have acquired Republic of Cyprus passports.

7.

the same holds for this two...

these people WORK. they dont receive these money for free, you little arrogant neo-cypriot.
and go ask those who work without SIS if their emplyoer offered them and they rejected, and how often this is the case
even more, once again these money doesnot come from your pocket but from the pocket of those who decided to employ them (do they receive the same wage as a gc for the same post ? )

and just wondering , if you are currently an employee somewhere do you go to your boss everymonth and tell him the necessary nmuber of thanks for the money you received for your work ?
if you employ people, do you DEMAND their thanks for being rewarded for their employemnt ?

who put such ideas in your head ? !!!!!

i dont know from where you got this, it seems somehow old...but this is from phileleftheros today

Since 1974, the Cyprus Electricity Authority has provided free electricity to the Turkish occupied areas at a cost of nearly US $343 million

and why do you think we did that ?

......................

BUT , my point was that your first comment on this subject was that you DEMANDED a big thanks for the FREE (according to your misleaded info) education offered to the tcs.
that was the first thing you could come up , in an incident of two 11-years olds and the subsequent events. the first thing you commented upon in an incident where our youth decided to beat up our compatriots was MONEY!
the first thing was not a condemnation , the first thing was not an expression of regret or hope that this should not happen , but you demanded gratitude. well bad news , gratitude is earned , but cannot be demanded

ofcource when you realised that your info was wrong, you decided to publish the gc "generocity" , removing the subject on another level .

lol you've got a real chip on your shoulder. Usually I can converse with TC's but you are something else, must be from the mainland.

my source is
http://www.cyprusemb.se/dbase/cypemb/measures.asp

Anyway my point was before you barged into our conversation proving your mental age of 5 once more was that if this is goodwill from our side then what came from the other side?

This point was answered...TC's consider the acceptance of the annan plan as their goodwill gesture.

First of all, I attend the school, and I know the person that got injured, I saw his bruise 1 minute after it happened, so I don't think that I'm a non-suitable person to talk about this. Secondly, I know who was wearing the cross, and the entire story from first hand.

So, the Turkish student spat on the Cypriot's shoe because of the cross.

20-25 hooded people came and started beating up people. At least 10 got hit, 5 Turks and 5 Cypriots. One of the Turks, is the one "seriously" injured, who had just a big bruise on his head, but has recovered over night!!! They saw him at school the next day, with no scars, no bruises etc. He had rejected medical care from any Cypriot hospital. (there was no need anyway)

P.S: We were already discussing this on the youth thread since it begun.
