I think I have a definitive answer!

I’ve been using the forum with no problems whatsoever until…

…I tried our new I-Choice service this afternoon.

The forum is VERY unreliable using I-Choice but works fine on my satellite broadband system.

I have i-choice with Otenet and no problems. The problem must be cytanet not i-choice.

I changed from Cytanet to Netway and it now works perfectly...
