If you want to stand up every evening and sing "God save the Queen" Yuk!!!

You will be in Cyprus then, live like the Cypriots do and don't join the I love the UK club!!!!

BTW welcome to the forum, we are all very friendly here and hopefully speak the truth and our mind on occasions

Hi sofo

Ignore them :-) When you first come here you will probbaly not know too many people, I imagine it is an instant social circle and like most foreign 'support groups' a fund of information about how to do things, good dentists etc etc.

...but leave after one year!

It could be beneficial to join when you get to Limassol. They don't all go on about the UK all the time (just 50% of them). There are quite a few social activities and a good lending library. I belonged so that I could make use of the Blood Bank as I didn't have family in Cyprus and if you need blood after an op. you have to get friends to provide the equivalent number of pints. As a member of UKCA we were guaranteed cover for this. Glad to say I never used this but felt happier knowing it was there if needed.
The bar is good.
Do get around and join in the Cypriot friendship that abounds especially if you are in the villages.
I look forward to coming over next year a couple of times.

Can you tell me the date of Carnival next year - I think Feb. 25th but would be glad of confirmation before I book my CY flight.

One of you at least needs to be a british passport holder to join, any other nationality married to that person, can become a honery member!!!
