EU tells Turkey to accept plan

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

It is so wonderful to see that our Cypriot brothers and sisters living in the occupied areas of Cyprus are staunch supporters of Turkey and continue to threaten the world with war and army sizes. Is that someone that I would want to be living with? May be not may be they can remain the illegal occupants of Cyprus why would I want to have anything to do with a neighbour who still believes that it's okay to kill people because you have the guns to do so. Sad! times ahead am afraid with that attitude.

I am getting jacked off by the hypocricy of Turkey and its supporters ...... the EU doesn't mean much to Turkey ....... why the hell then are you not stopping the process ...... December is fast approaching so why hasn't Turkey taken the first step to say thank you Europe for beginning negotiations with us to join the EU ...... but because we don't think that you are a viable option for us we wish to stop the accession talks now, so that we do not waste anyone's time and efforts. Regards
Turkey

But France will not agree. The Greek Cypriot veto would have been effective if it was the only hurdle, but it is not. How do you see Turkey making sacrfices for something which lies 15 years down the line, and may or may not actually occur?

French and German policies towards Turkey are not solid or inter-governmental, right-wing parties reject Turkey's accession, socialist parties promote it. In the 15-20 years that the negotiations will need, there are going to be many mood changes in the EU. Schroeder's Germany supported Turkey, Merkel's Germany does not, so what? What matters is the public opinion, a progressing Turkey can change it from negative to positive in the long run
