If a disinterested turkey stops all attempts to re-unify the island then the biggest losers will be the TC's.

You will be completely integrated with Turkey and will be treated with same care as one of turkeys eastern asian provinces. You will have no id other than a turkish one, you will never be a part of the EU, your GDP/capita will decrease again, you will be overrun with even more settlers from anatolia and the army will control more of your life than they do now. You will be a part of an asian country with all the pro's and con's that surround that.

Whereas the GC's....well thing won't change much. We'll still be telling the world you've occupied EU land and we will still be the official and legal government of cyprus.

SO give the whole "if you veto turkey you lose your biggest trump card" a rest. If we veto turkey you become the losers, we stay as we are.

So? one way or the other assimilation is on the cards for TCs, just make a comparison between the treatment of the TCs between you and the Turks I'm sure you can see which we have prospered with and where we have been treated fairly.

The fact remains you do not get what you want either, at least now you have a hope with your EU card you have no leverage over Turkey without it you don't stand a chance, so don't hide behind your fingers wasn't the great European solution one of the reasons you voted down the AP. Now you want us to believe that its not that important...

Its been 32 years and looks to be a lot longer, not as short sighted or as blind as you wish to think. EU territory you maybe, does that mean they will put in place an army they don't have and come to your rescue please save us all this crap and admit that a disinterested Turkey would mean the end of the road for a united island.

If that's your best policy then go for it, don't hold back. But don't expect Turkey to play ball you have underestimated her to many times and lost. You are again going down the same path, a blind man will always fall in a hole.

I am not saying CYprus should use it veto or not, all I'm saying is that you will be a dearer price than the GC's. If you're not carefull someone might call a bluff and you will be the ones trying to convince us that we can live together.

As for who treats you better, if you think another 100,000 settlers from deepest anatolia landing on your doorstep is better than a constitution governed by the EU then we have bigger problems to sort out here.
