Well a rough guide please.

Assume inexperienced and assume experienced.

A minimum and a maximum, just to get an idea.

well if you insist .... a very inexperienced person would be earning something like 100CYP net per week. And someone with some hands on experience ... say, 2 years, 120 CYP per week net. plus overtime.

in fairness, for fitting and removing gearboxes, and an apprenticeship to become a gearbox builder, thats a pretty fair income...

Really?

Circa £20 per day?

What if he wants to buy lunch and put petrol in his own car or pay his bills or have a weekend away?

have you seen what apprentice mechanics get paid elsewhere?

You are effectively training someone to one day be your competition, so it rarely pays well...

£20 per day to learn a trade? seems darn fair to me, usually they would have to pay for their education!
