Do Cypriot Youth from either side Socialise

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Klik » Thu Nov 23, 2006 8:25 pm

A better way to phrase it is: a small insignificant story became the talk of the town...

The school is investigating about inside help, which I think is true.

I, myself, feel that the incident was no big deal, but the way the school handled it, it made it sound very big and since it was known for its pro-turkish handling so far, it was looked as a further act of idiocy...

But since the parents said it was okay, and everyone was happy, why on earth was the "scandal" on the newspapers? :!:

The story happened 2 weeks ago... So it's obvious that the raid was because of the article. The article was correct in most of its arguments.

It has nothing to do with Chrysi Avgi, Metopo Neoleas(its current name) etc. It's just a bunch of high school kids, some of which I know, and I have acquintances that know them etc... It was just a good/bad move. For me that I lived it, it was a terrible thing to happen. That's why we opposed them, and we ran to beat them for doing that... But for the majority of the Cypriot youth, what was done was good and a very representative gesture... And now us English School students are known as the friends of the Turks, and traitors of Cyprus for that. This incident has changed the whole image of my school, and the view of the Cypriot youth... And I can't imagine more Turks coming next year, unless the schools there are really terrible!

EDIT: Also, to clarify about the "good/bad" action... When people that graduated from the school heared about the incident they called us crazy for helping the Turkish students, and asked us while laughing, why didn't you beat them up as well!!!

Reunification? You must be joking. There is a saying "the further away you are from Greeks the closer you are to God"

If I'm a horrible person because I belive in Jesus and wear a cricifix that is your judgement. I wil not judge you for your beliefs in any deity.

humanist, as you may be aware most Turks, in particular Turkish Cypriots, are staunchly secular people. As you may know headscarves and other religious symbols are banned in schools in the Turkey and the TRNC. I do not see the reason why people should wear crosses in schools, and parade their religion in schools. Religion is something that should remain strictly in the confines of somebody's home.

Humanist, I have no problem with religion nor the crucifix. I'm not religious and I strongly believe religion is the root of all evil.

My problem is with kids like klik. here we have a kid attending the best school in the country, he is the future of Cyprus. Please take the time and read his posts. Once you do this come back to me and tell me you are for reunification. Also take into account that this kid is educated and intelligent, if he can treat his fellow man like this what about the uneducated peasants.

btw, klik is the voice of the future and is in the majority, that gives me the impression the TC's are f***ed if ever they were to reunite.

I do not believe this kid spat at anything let alone the crucifix. Is there proof of this?

Klik wrote:An article concerning an incident in my school caused a lot of unrest and chaos there...

It happened on November 7th, and was published and known to the whole school(including teachers!!!!) yesterday!

First: We were protesting about the "punishment" the Turkish student got(nothing)

Second: A mob of high school students(around 25) came into my school and beat up a lot Turkish students during our second break, because of the incident that happened on November 7th. A large portion of the school, mostly my age(6th form) were chasing the high school kids(who were our age as well) even outside the school...

"Point is, nobody can touch any member of my school in my school, with me inside"

What those kids did in my school was something that 80% of the Cypriot youth would want to do...

Klik, three questions, (a) what do you mean by your last sentence, (b) do the TC students in your school exclusivelly identify themselves as “Turks” and (c) what do you mean you were protesting about the “punishment” the TC student got?

Mrfromng, as mush as it makes me sick to have to read your provocative and idiotic posts -i.e. the posts of a complex and a very low IQ bigot, I would like to tell you that when there will be reunification in Cyprus, you are free to stay in the UK where you currently live or move to your motherland Turkey, since Cyprus belongs only to the Cypriots, i.e. those who feel Cypriots more than anything else and regard the whole of the country as their homeland.
