Greek Speaking / Turkish Speaking Relationships

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Greek Speaking / Turkish Speaking Relationships

Postby humanist » Sun Nov 12, 2006 9:56 am

I would like to know how many relationships may exist in Cyprus where at least one of the partners are either Greek or Turksih Speaking. Where do they fair in the Cyprus Society.

Is religion important to you or is love the answer?

Love to hear from you.

Humanist, I do not know about Cyprus itself but I have heard of mixed Cypriot couples that live abroad. Religion is important to me personally, but I went with love when it came down to it. I think most Cypriots are not overly religious.

there are some mixed marriages abroad.
before 1974, there were some mixed marriages mostly between gc women and tc men. as a rule the woman had to choose between her loved one an dher family / old life.

since 1974 , the possibility for mixed marriages was simple absent.
since 2003....who knows ?

Thanks Andri ....... God, Allah, Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha, Krishna and spirituality play a very important part in my life, as does love, compassion and kindness ..... although I respect your beliefs in religion I feel that religion and perhaps the institution of the Church (as a Christian) has caused more problems than it's worth.

I find religin a strange concept in that it causes war and suffering and most people concentrate on we are better than they ..... our beliefs are better than theirs .... than actually practising the basic principle theses great maters have come to teach us .... Love, Respect, Compassion, Acceptance.

Sorry if I took over but this is how passionate I am about God and World Love and Peace. This is why I find the whole Cyprus thing frustrating. Beacuse it lacks these basic tenats.

Regards
Me
