Mehmet, I have no problem with your line of thinking and it can be deemed as honourable to Cyprus but it is not for the Turkish Cypriot people. We all want to see peace but we have had peace for 32 years. It has been a war of words and of sabotage ever since. I have to slightly disagree with VP on one point here and that is the demonising of every GC. Although their government has done all it can to turn them against us I don’t think they have achieved there goal. I can understand why VP can feel the way he does because he lives it every day. I too felt the same way when I visited Cyprus a while back. It is hard to see the lights of Greek houses twinkling over the boarder and not to imagine hoards of angry GCs pouring over the boarder with gun in hand and killing everyone in sight. It is a chilling feeling but I managed to shake it off. It must feel the same way for the GCs that look in the other direction and see the lighted flag on the mountainside.

This is not a “war” against those people and if all things were equal and we could get rid of the past along with the politicians we could see that dream come true. A dream is all that it is I am afraid because the past is still hovering very close by and it still has influence on our lives today. These influences are not just in the way we think but also in our daily lives. I can think of home and know that the TRNC is that place. With what the RoC demands that home for me is no longer there. For the resident TCs, as in VPs case, it must feel even worse because they are being asked to give up the ground from under their feet. These lands are not the spoils of war as Kifeas and Piratis would like every one to believe but the land of necessity. This necessity grew from history. A history in which the GC aggressors forced us into. We can not turn back that time any more than we can erase all the wrongs that were done against us. OK you say so let us move on. Move on to what? We have been living under siege for 32 years. We have not been allowed to progress as people or as a state in which we can pursue wealth. The GCs are 5 times more affluent than we are and house prices and the GDP show that. The EU makes certain, on most counts, that any applicants for membership are, in relative terms, capable of providing for its’ infrastructure and its’ people. Those that are not yet up to scratch are given money in order for them to catch up and compete on a level playing ground. Even the smallest of countries have the right to a veto and for support of many kinds. What we are being asked to do is give up our state and join with no cushion or cover. We can legally freeze in the night air as any other Cypriot has the right to do. We are not offered any rights in the way that the EU offers. How will a TC buy a house with the potential earning that he will be more likely to get. Is it all right for an entire community to step straight into the lower class status. Will we see entire villages of TCs living in rented property with the worst of schools and services. Is it alright that these houses and flats are most likely to be owned by GCs. Why would we want that for our own people.

What a pathetic way of excusing and justifying the looting and theft of 200,000 people's entire wealth, homes and property, and make them live in refugee settlements in the south for the rest of their life! Zan, you talk nonsense! If what your leadership wanted in 1974, was partition, you should have contained yourselves in only the 18% of the territory that Turkey illegally occupied, without spreading and settling around, all over the entire area of it; and you should have not imported all those tens of thousands of mainland Turkish settlers in order to fill up the gap that the 200,000 ethnically cleansed GCs have "created." If according to your theories, the 82% of the people of this country can fit and live in the 63% of the country's area, why can the 18% of the people not be able to fit and live in the 18% of it?

If you do not change attitude, I am afraid that you are inviting a war in Cyprus in the future, and this will only be due to your greediness and arrogance. We can digest to some extent your desire to live completely separately from the GCs, in your own exclusive partitioned territory, but we cannot and will never accept your greediness to seize twice as much as your fair share (36%,) for this purpose. I repeat again that what you are doing is to invite a war in this country, in the future, and prepare yourself to be sending your sons from the UK to fight it!

You are the one advocating war not me

You are not just advocating war, you are in war against us since 1974 that you illegally occupied 1/3rd of Republic of Cyprus. Since then we just have a cease fire.

Where have i made racists remarks?

Remarks? You are endorsing and promoting racist and illegal ACTIONS. Somebody that just makes racist remarks is a saint compared to you.

This sums Kifeas up and don't make excuses for him like you did in the past he is an out and out war monger and everyone should evaluate what he has to say accordingly. Unbelievable.
