Turkish sorrow at Ecevit death

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Reminds me of the way Greeks changed all slavic place and town names in Macedonia, and then renamed the entire Macedonian nation into the ridiculous "fyromians". They must be suffering from a gross inferiority complex i suppose.

And what do you think of that renaming policy Greece applied in Macedonia?

Alexander the Great and the Macedonians were Greeks and spoke Greek. So who gave the Slavic names? For sure not the Macedonians. Macedonians did not speak a Slavic language.

Oh, I forgot, the Macedonians, like the Turks, were barbarians who stole Greek land and history. Greece, of course as always, restored the "correct" names and took back what "rightfully" belonged to her.

Please, keep on vomitting, shitting and peeing your poisonous venom in this thread. No self-respecting Turk should have engaged in this discussion anyway.

The Macedonians are Greek and stole nothing from Greeks. Who said that? Are you talking about the Slavs in FYROM? We could rename Cyprus to Macedonia also but that would not make us Macedonians!

The Junta were jailed not because of Cyprus but because they had usurped power in a coup d'etat. The 1974 events were the catalyst because failing to incorporate Cyprus lost them almost all of their public and crucially military support. Ecevit acted under the treaty of guarantee - therefore legally. Grivas and Samson were murderous fascists. Makarios a corrupt, power-crazed loon.

And about small minorities supporting the GC fascists and Enosis peddlers - how come those same fascists and enosisists were in charge so long or had a free reign to do what they wanted? They were voted in by a majority- ergo Makarios the enosisist (and now Big Nose Papadoc).

Swashbuckler, it seems that you did not choose this nickname accidentally, but because it reflects your character and personality. You are indeed a swordsman that engages in showy or extravagant sword plays, or better, a reckless, impetuous and irresponsible person (as the dictionary definitions provide.) Some even describe you as a sword-wielding ruffian or bully, but I will not go that far, since from the level of your English, you must at least have finished some school.

You said that "Ecevit acted under the treaty of guarantee - therefore legally." Totally wrong!

Both the Junta coup and the Turkish invasion were illegal interventions into an independed, sovereign, UN member country. They were both done arbitrarily, contrary to the provisions of the UN Charter which stipulates that only the UN Security Council can authorize an intervention into a Sovereign UN member country (Cyprus.) The Junta coup against elected president Makarios was ordered by seconded, but legally appointed Greek officers in the NG, and therefore it can be classed as an illegal intervention, but not an invasion in the literal sense, since no Greek troops violently landed in Cyprus to occupy its territory. The Turkish illegal intervention was an illegal invasion, because it was made by Turkish troops violently landing in Cyprus, which regardless of the fact that came only 5 days after the illegal Junta coup and hypothetically as a response to it, it was illegal because there was no UN SC approval or authorization for it, as the UN Charter (the ultimate pinnacle of international law) stipulates. Furthermore, the fact that this illegal Turkish invasion, forced people out of their homes and properties and never allowed them to return back (ethnic cleansing and property usurpation –i.e. violation of fundamental human rights as per UN Charter and CoE,) and the fact that it was followed by an illegal occupation of a substantial area (37%) of a sovereign country (RoC;) make Turkey’s adventurism in Cyprus a total and a complete illegality, in the face of international law. The fact that one illegality has followed another illegality, doesn’t legalize or legitimate the later, especially in view of the fact the former illegality was of a much smaller scale and lasted only one week, while the latter and more serious one continues to last up to this day. This as far as the international law facts of 1974 events are concerned, which continue to be in place to this date!

You may celebrate Ecevit’s achievements as much as you like, and you may even parade in Nazi (fascist) goose style stepping, or dance in the tunes of the ottoman band dressed in Attila the Hun clothing, every 20th of July in North Nicosia, or you may shout “how happy to say I am a Turk” and “one Turk equals the whole world,” as much as you like; but nothing will change the above facts of international law and human rights principles!

About Makarios been a corrupt power-crazed loon …who says so …You? Uncle Rauf bey? Harry Gibbons in his “genocide files?” Michael Moran? Kenan Atakol? The Turkish foreign ministry’s website? The ATCA websites? Who else? Ayse?

As for your other nonsense above, in which you asked “how come those same fascists and enosisists were in charge so long or had a free reign to do what they wanted?” and claimed also that “they were voted in by a majority- ergo Makarios the enosisist (and now Big Nose Papadoc,)” I would advise you read some more authoritative resources -outside and away from those the ATCA websites provide for you! None of these people were in charge, set aside that they have never been voted in by any majority or even a minority. If they were in charge, they wouldn’t have had the need to overthrow with a coup the one that was voted in to have been in charge (Makarios.) You see …your little nonsense theories do not even fit from a logical perspective.

If you like to be entertained, please read the Cyprus Mail , the weekly column called "coffee Shop" the only person to say it as he sees it. Very true.
