Well Thank you Hazza .
I understand from your post that you are concerned about my safety and wish to pick me up at the airport and take me to my destination to ensure that nothing bad happens to me -- very commendable and in the true spirit of an honest Cypriot
I'm sorry to disappoint you but I no longer take large amounts of cash to Cyprus -- the first time was to buy basic furniture for my apartment and the second time was to buy a bit more furniture and a second hand car.
The reason I took Cash was that I'd been let down by what was the Popular Bank when sending the final payment for my Cyprus home.
They promised me that my cash transfer of £18,000 would be in my solicitors account by midday the following day.
In actual fact they lost the money in hyper space for just under two weeks which nearly caused me to lose the apartment and also the £13,000 deposit that I'd already paid .
So as you can see it was a long time before I could trust a bank again.
I wouldn't mind if the transferring bank showed some concern about the missing money -- all the bank manager would say was "It's only £18,000 sir -- it's not the end of the world" -- after he had received a letter from my UK solicitor stating that I wanted my £18,000 back and would be going to court to recover the lost deposit and claim compensation for the stress and worry -- the money suddenly appeared in Cyprus .
