He will not be told. He's just been told that the deeds on Turtle Bay are all in place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess there's nothing you can do....it's pretty clear he's set his heart on the idea....let's just hope he purchases TC land and not stolen GC land, but if it's the cheap prices he's attracted to...well, I doubt it....

£110,000 British for 4 bed villa with pool. Is that cheap to you?

In one word ------ Yes

What a load of crap. This man claims his friend is about to buy in the north. He says his friend was not aware of the split.

Where has this man been living. Does he not have a TV? does he never read newspapers? Didn't simon the busybody little brit ever mention to his friend about the split?

This story is made up. This sad little individual is trying to win some brownie points with the GC's. Sad or what?

I have to agree with you, it seems like fabricated drivel to me.

I was thinking along those lines myself --- seemed rather strange

I just wanted to say that I have been to Turtle Bay Village and it is very nice indeed, in fact I almost bought a property there myself.

All I've heard from all of you is that the only reason land is cheap in the North is because it is GC land. Could it be that maybe land is cheap because this is an up and coming area for tourism!!!!

Property and land prices are determined but supply and demand. Previously there has been little demand for purchasing in the North, but as more and more people go there and see beautiful it is the prices will start to increase. And they have done already compared to last year.

The recent referendum confirmed the desire of Northern Cyprus to join the EU as part of a united Cyprus. As a result, Northern Cyprus is going to benefit from EU assistance, direct flights and likely recognition as an independent state. Turkey is also seeking admission to the EU, which it is highly likely to achieve. At present TRNC remains a duty free country with an open border to the EU making trade, tourism and access simple. It has its own democratically elected government, which has strict but sensible guidelines for land use and development.

Also another gem is the statement that the quickest way to get there is through Larnaca airport  ---- now that is taking the piss

Bill

This fool at work thinks it will take 45 minutes to get there. How long do you think? I reckon from outside Larnaca Airport to the area of Northern Cyp 2 hours.

What are your thoughts?

Actually you can easily get from Larnaca airport to the North in 45 mins - either Nicosia or via Pyla, which I would guess would be the best option if heading to the panhandle side.

Never seen the Turtle Bay development but the prices must be the attraction as I know someone, who committed to purchasing on the site a couple of years ago - never even set foot in the North!! Think he visited this year for the first time (yet to hear his views).

Good, he may listen to me then!

How do you mean do count on Larnaca Airport? Why and how have people been arrested and interrogated by police?

He can't get a direct flight to that poxy little occupied airport in the north! The di** head will not be told.

The UK Sunday papers quite often now refer to 'direct flights' to the North (and in fact some do, in fact, fly straight there if there are no passengers to alight in Turkey - some holiday companies schedule 2 flights very close to each other, presumably to put all the passengers getting off in Turkey on one flight and putting all the passengers for N. Cyprus on the other, enabling the flight to go straight through without landing in Turkey). I once queried with one of the advertisers re. the 'direct flight' and they were adamant that it was 'direct' - just not 'non-stop'. As ever, it's all in the interpretation, eh?

And, errrr.... I hate to contradict you again but..... Ercan is def. not a 'poxy little airport' any more - I've not seen Pafos but certainly anyone seeing Larnaca airport and Ercan airport for the first time, would not put Ercan in the 'Wild West' part of the country.

This is not about what you can do but what you should do. If I had no conscience I could do a lot more things and be much richer too.

In fact there are some very new fully detached villas in Kandahar Iraq. Very nice place quiet and the locals are very nice people. Why don't you buy there instead since the Brittish army is always better than the Turkish army to protect you.
