This i s whats happening at the back of where i live, all the natural gullies have been modified when they build new homes, so its been wellies for me for two weeks so far... This tiny island is slowly being destroyed, but who am i to say, i am just a foreigner.

If that's been happening for a few weeks, and it carries on happening whenever there is heavy rain, there is a risk the foundations are going to "move/subside". You should think about moving!

But hey i bet there are worse off than me, i feel sorry for those that have spent a fortune on their dream house and seen it slide down a hill. I cant believe the government are allowing all these properties to go up just anywhere they please, without land surveys... And who is going to buy them all? the old pensioners who came to live here years ago because it was cheaper? they will be dead in a few years, so who else will there be to buy them, a: its too expensive here, b: its becoming a concrete jungle, with ugly boxes for houses. and c: There is no real infrastructure in place, very few decent roads, no paths, people with disabilities are stuffed. You cant easily set up a business because of jealousy and fear you will take others business away, wages are poor, and if you have to work hospital facilities are in the dark ages, unless you can afford to go to the private clinics, my broken ankle cost me 1800 to fix, thats over 3 months wages. So can anyone predict the future for Cyprus? unless it gets its thinking head on and not its money grabbing one..
