In the year????

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Wed Nov 01, 2006 9:10 pm

"Hitlerite" way is your barbaric way of invasions, land grab and ethnic cleansing. Thats what Hitler did exactly as well.

I am guessing Hitler also agreed with you about the problems of multi culturism and surprisingly enough he thought of the exact same way of "solving" those issues as you do.

When is the Nazi military ruled Turkey going to take of her troops from Republic of Cyprus? When you have the answer come and tell us. Meanwhile cut the lame excuses.

You have made over 5000 posts and you still talk rubbish. Now shhhh while the grown ups talk.

If what I say is rubbish why you get so upset and you personally attack me every time I say the truth and spoil your lame attempts of excusing your crimes and illegalities?

Aslo I notice you avoided answering the hypothetical question about partition were TCs would keep 18% of land and 18% of coastline. I am not surprised that you avoided answering of course.

I have already answered this question to you on at least a hundred times of your 5132 posts but it does not get to far into your head.

First of all the land is not yours to offer and second 18% of the population cannot necessarily survive on 18% of the land. That is for the TCs to decide how much land they need to survive. Your Makarios tried to wipe us off the island and you are paying the price, if that’s the way you want to look at it. Go spit on his grave.

The way I look at it is we are where we are and we have to look at a sensible way to move forward. If the economics do not tally then we have to make them. You can look at it in any way you like and until such time as I see you standing where your President is standing now, I will not worry too much about what you think.

If you are getting sensitive to being attacked then you can do either of two things. Tone down your accusations and propaganda or don a hard hat.

Hi everyone,

My take on this is that racism is inherent in almost everyone and in every society. It is simply human nature. I actually think that the UK is a very tolerant society, this does not mean however that racism is not rife amongst most of its people, it is simply that they do not act on this racism because there is no good reason to. This does not mean that they would not if certain circumstances changed. The main reason any society gels well is not whether it is homogenous, it is whether it is prosperous. This is backed up by the situation in the UK. Look at where the race riots have occured in the UK, it has almost always been in areas which are not prosperous between people that are not well off. Most western countries have seen there economies grow over the last 20 years, with the average income increasing in real terms. HoweThe number of people living in poverty has also been increasing with a growing chasm that divides the 85% who are not in poverty and a growing underclass of people who's quality of life has actually decreased in the last 20 years. So whilst the 85% who have jobs and make enough money are content to live with the other races in society also in this group the 15% who live in poverty are rioting. Another good example is France, all the unrest has happened in the deprived banlieues of Paris and other major cities and it is usually the poor recent migrants pitted against the police and/or poor indigenous people. This is why I believe it is imperative that the economy of Northern Cyprus cataches up with the South and the people share the common goal of becoming more prosperous together. A united Cyprus is bound to perform better than a partitioned one, also I strongly believe that even with today's levels of prosperity the events of the 1960s would not be repeated. Look at north and south Cyprus these days and you will find that the main economic polarisation is not between TCs and GCs but actually between TCs and settlers in the north and between GCs and the new migrants from eastern europe and elsewhere in the south.

Zan, so in other words you want your cake and eat it too. Saying you want partition for 37% of the land but not 18%, because its not enough to survive on. Anything else outside of that is considered propoganda for you. After you climb down from your high horse and think like a realist, we might get somewhere.

I did not mention 37%. What I said was what ever we need to make a go of it. I am not an expert on that point and I am assuming neither are you, so that will have to be determined.

You are absolutely right on all counts. The question I have been trying to ask is exactly how we go about securing a way for the north to catch up before intergration.

the problem here is that our goverment (rightly or wrongly) believes that richer tcs will have less reasons to negotiate. and since often the policies of the tcs politicians are not aimed at the prosperity of the tcs but rather on attempts to improve the status of the trnc, this raises the concerns in the south.

Thats up to TCs to decide? Sure it is up to you to decide and go steal your neighbors car if you decide you need it. But don't complain when you will be called a thief and when you will have to pay the penalty of your crime.

Your Makarios tried to wipe us off the island and you are paying the price, if that’s the way you want to look at it. Go spit on his grave.

The Turks are trying to wipe us out since they set their foot in Cyprus. They butchered 10s of thousands of GCs. And then you have the nerve to talk about Makarios? Your hypocrisy is beyond any limit.

And I am not getting sensitive about being attacked. I've been attacked by many Nazis like you before.

I think that the prosperity and the status go hand in hand. You cannot have one without the other. Who in his right mind is going to invest in a state that is of temporary status and or no where to go. If plans are signed and goodwill evident, investers will feel much more secure. How can we get round a problem that we have identified without it.

Here is an idea: You return some land, and you get a bit of trade and other financial help in return. The more you give, the more you get. In the end, you will catch up, and by the same time our refugees will be back to their homes, the occupation army out of Cyprus and all Cypriots will have all their rights.

What do you think?
