sunday massacre

Postby unique_earthling » Mon Oct 30, 2006 9:09 pm

Poisoned dogs came in in droves on sunday at the clinic, today a dear friend lost 3 dogs and another 3 are on an IV due to poison put down in pikni forest. They were pets and she is a vet nurse who saves hundreds of dogs lives, they were as dear to her as children... Why do hunters put poison down? i was told it was to kill off other hunters dogs, please dont tell me this is ok or that it doesnt happen or rarely because i will tell you your blind, and dont know the facts... I invite you all to spend a day at the clinic here and see what mindless morons are doing to these lovely creatures. So if anyone can enlighten me as to why poison is used on defenceless animals and to what justification, i really would like to know..

There is no justification...

Those that put poison down for animals deserve to die a long and painful death, sooner rather than later...

Agreed, it takes a special type of coward to poison someone else's pets.

A disgrace to humanity - I am surprised the government tolerates this attitude to wildlife and animals in general. I dare say the EU would do something if they were made aware of the problem.

I from my part , will do all I can to bring these shameless sadistic practice to the forefront .
Our government will most definitely be held to account for standing by and permitting these cruel sadists to carry out their cruel acts.
Will start emailing those that can bring savagery to an end .

Seriously speaking, how does a chemical like lannate get into the general population where it can be consumed by children, used to poison animals, etc? Lannate is a restricted-use pesticide in the US - meaning that you need a pesticide applicator's license to buy and sell it.

When used on corn, lannate has a 48 hour re-entry period. It's not safe to go anywhere near this crap in an open field for 48 hours after it's been applied.

Why isn't the stuff regulated in Cyprus? What if some idiot's kids get into it and consume it? What if it's put on beef and thrown into someone's garden (to poison a dog) from which vegetables are consumed w/in 48 hours? Why are untrained morons allowed to access this stuff?

Is the Cypriot government's environmental services division asleep at the wheel, or just plain crazy?
