How did the 'Cyprus Problem' happen?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Viewpoint, above you said:

that re-confirms why there should never be reunificaiton on this island

Therefore why are you playing games now? For you it is confirmed that there should never be unification on the island.

It is clear that what you want is partition and nothing else, and all what you are asking have as a final aim partition. As a first step for your partition dream is to establish that TCs have legal control over a separate part of Cyprus which could then claim as their own and use a Serbia-Montenegro or Czechoslovakia model in order to achieve your final aim: partition.

So forget about it Viewpoint. If you want peace then remove the Turkish troops from our country and allow legality to return. If you choose war, then be sure that we will fight this war to the end.

I am not going to waste more time about "formulas" etc with you. The formulas for working democratic countries are there and they are obvious. I have told you many times to choose ANY system of any other EU country for Cyprus.

As it is said in the definition of democracy:
These elements define the fundamental elements of all modern democracies, no matter how varied in history, culture, and economy. Despite their enormous differences as nations and societies, the essential elements of constitutional government--majority rule coupled with individual and minority rights, and the rule of law--can be found in Canada and Costa Rica, France and Botswana, Japan and India.

We are not going to re-invent the wheel in such a way that will suit you and harm us, and will allow you to achieve your dream of partition, forget about it.

We should now concentrate on getting the Turkish troops out of our country. For this to happen the Turkish troops should have a lot more to lose if they stay in Cyprus than if they leave. This is were we should put all our efforts and not trying to change the mind of people like Viewpoint who will NEVER stop supporting partition and the violation of our human and democratic rights.

Why do you think in the early 1960's Turks in the island died rapidly?

The inter communal violence, well the main inter communal violence started in 1963, after the EOKA campaign....

Peace! :)

Yeah, it was after the EOKA campaign, but was commanded by almost the same people...

I know a lot about EOKA from the inside and the aim was to remove the English and Turks from the island. The Turks in Cyprus were paid by the English to help them on by stopping the rebels. That's why the Turks got into the target in the first place.

EOKA also intended to join with Greece, something that the Turks of course didn't like, which resulted to further unrest later on...

I'm not an EOKA supporter, I'm exactly the opposite. I'd rather be a part of the United Kingdom than a free country targetted by 50 other countries! Not that the EOKA played much of a significant role when the English left. They would have left anyway...

If we all wanna know the truth, we should read an auto-biography of an English Foreign Ministry member etc, when it's published. Historians, other politicians and co don't know much more than us...

P.S: What exactly do you mean by peace? For some, peace would ensure that there's no Turk in the island, because of all they have done to us in all these 500 years of occupation. Others would just want their homes back. A constitution like the 1960 one, should be out of the question. That's why there was too much bloodshed.

you are really confusing me klik ...!!!!!!
youdont want turks on the island....you are exactly the opposite of EOKA ... you dont accept tcs as cypriots ... :?

on what grounds are you the opposite of eoka ? my understanding up to now , was that the opposite of eoka was akel. and you are obviously not that ! so what the hell do you support?

is it possible to be more "right" than EOKA ? !!!!!! (just wondering.... after that i might as well commit suicide  )

Firstly, fascism: mixture of nationalist(right-wing) and syndicalist(left-wing) ideas. 70-30% respectively to be exact

I have nothing to do with left-wing and right-wing, it's about my country.

I'm supporting the right of Cyprus, throughout its history. And any sign of Turkish culture in Cyprus is bad. Turks have only done bad to us, and the existence of Turks trying to get called Cypriots it's a further proof of that. How can someone who is either a son of the soldier that came and killed over 500 years over 1.000.000 of my people or a few idiot compatriot of mine in the past sold their souls to become Turks and Muslim and deny their CYPRIOTHOOD be called Cypriots?

When people do a decent research on the formation of a Turkish community in Cyprus, they'll understand what I'm saying

Just by calling a Turk living in the north a Cypriot, it's treason and a stab in the back of your own ancestors...

10 years ago we were all shouting: Έξω οι Τούρκοι από την Κύπρο!
And at the same time, we lost 2 Cypriot heroes because of those that now some ignorant people call compatriots!!!

Well, no way in hell a Turkish speaking(1st language) person is a Cypriot.

The languages that were spoken by Cypriots in its entire history are:
Ancient Cypriot
Ancient Greek
Greek
Latin

Any other languages spoken were pure conquerors, not our compatriots.

Cyprus is for the Cypriots. Turks go out
