How did the 'Cyprus Problem' happen?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Ahh was trying to work it out. Thank you for the clarification. Wasn't in any way an indication of anything to do with me - just trying to work out what he was saying. Hope everyone understands that! xx

If my parents started talking in Greek on a saturday night, when I was a child, my sisters and I knew that they were waiting for us to fall asleep so that they could leave us with my elder sister and go to the Turkish picture house. This is now a running joke in my family.

in the film politiki kouzina , the father and mother (who were greeks of istanbul) spoke greek the whole time....except when they fought or swear at each other . to be honest i found that extremely funny

Try talking sense and just say you hate us for one reason and that is because we are Turkish. The year 1570 has gone but we are still here and will be for your life time and after.

Nice to be for once on topic!

So you are saying that there's no solution to the Cyprus problem "as we are still here and will be for your life time and after", right?

You do realise that YOU are the problem in Cyprus don't you? And there's no "peace" etc to be done. We are in peace time since 1974 until now(with a few small breaks, with the more significant being 1996)

When you yourselves understand that you are the problem of Cyprus, we probably could solve it. Right now, you have two choices, either learn Greek and communicate with CYPRIOTS in the language of Cyprus, or go back to Turkey and speak your filthy language with your COMPATRIOTS... The first would apply that you are officially Cypriots...

I have a third option that is to stay where I am and wave two fingers at people like you. It is you that is the problem and people like you. 37% of the island speaks very good Turkish and you and your ilk will ensure that they never learn Greek.

In the TRNC I am officially a Turkish Cypriot and I do not need an endorsement from you.

It is amazing to see one nationalist arguing with another one, and I am glad that Zan has finally found his counterpart, his interlocutor so to say! In case you did not realize it Zan, you and klik are the mirror images of each! You are both the same piece of shit! Good luck to both of you!

If you take what I wrote at face value then all three of us need to be flushed down at the same time.

If I take what you wrote at face value, where? I am talking about what you have been saying in the forums in general. And why the 3 of us, and not the two of you?

An old story my mother used to tell me.

A man that cannot swim plucks up the courage to go into the water and give it a go. While he is thrashing about scared out of his mind, he shits himself. He finally gets to a point where his feet touch the ground and as he walks back towards the shore one of his turds floats past him. “Look at that”, he says to himself, “my own shit is trying to teach me how to swim”.

Nice mothers always teach such educative things to their children

I really liked something that was said in this parody! That I'm a nationalist!!!! Of course I am, that's what I said. I don't give a damn if it's right wing or left wing, I just support my country! Cyprus. You on the other hand support the TURKISH propaganda....

Latin is an official language of Cyprus since it was spoken as well as Greek(ancient) during the Byzantine Empire.

Here are parts of some patriotic CYPRIOT songs:
"Αμμόχωστος":

If Cypriots live at Ammochostos, why do 75.000 Cypriots want to return to their homes but can't? It's occupied by Turks and Turks live there(not many, that's why it's called a "Ghost Town")

"Αμμόχωστος"(different from above):

Land that I feel nostalgic for... Why is it among the Cypriot patriotic songs if Cypriots could go there freely? Because CYPRIOTS could not! Only Turks and their sons could...

I'm not even bothering to translate it, you get the point of this one I hope...

This land doesn't want you, it doesn't know you
Everything here is ours, from every pebble
From the ground to the tree. the water and the breeze
Our bodies got a drop of them to be created
Our soul took a breath of each
Everything here is ours-but for you, everything here is strange

For you are strangers and as much laurels you hold
This land is not sold, you will never become friends of it
This (home)country is a mother, has a memory, it remembers
From the holy bosom they have taken lips
Our sweet Cyprus was, is and will be
For its children a mother, but for you always strange

What I want is that people understand the facts, and don't buy crap from coward politicians saying that the Turks that live by the act of invasion in my homes in Keryneia, Ammochostos and Morfou are my compatriots!!
They are the conquerors, the source of the problem. They want "peace" because it's the only way they'll officially be recognised as Cypriots and not Turks! We are in peace if you haven't realised. Truce to be exact. Nobody's fighting, politicians are negotiating... But we still have the big issue. Turks living in the north.

P.S: Yeah, all these songs(and more, these are just a few) are crap, fake, nobody believes in them.
Read the facts, see that you create the problem
If you want to live in peace with Cypriots, become legal immigrants, as many others are, and get accustomed to our beliefs and lifestyle. Do not try to impose yours on us. This is Cyprus, the Greek island...
