More hunting accidents

Postby reportfromcyprus » Mon Oct 30, 2006 9:02 am

They call it the large game hunting season - the large game being other human beings apparently; http://www.reportfromcyprus.com/, or straight to the story: http://www.reportfromcyprus.com/Four%20 ... idents.htm

Two sons shot their own fathers!

What kind of large game do we have in Cyprus, anyway, that we need a large game hunting season?

I didn't think there were more than three moufflon left, and the buffalo? Haven't seen one in centuries :(

I am not into hunting, but hunters have the right to hunt as much as you have the right to criticize them. It might be sad, but that is democracy.

Sure, andri_cy, I agree with you. Still, if you read the story, a 79-year-old woman was shot in the forehead as she was driving. They don't have the right to shoot people, it's that simple.

They have the right to shoot at animals (whatever is left of them).

57,000 hunters released into the countryside yesterday to shoot.....what exactly??? A handful of hare and a few birds....oh, and the odd relative and numerous hunting dogs!!!

there is game for them to shoot.
it is produced in farms in 100s, and then let free, almost unable to survive alone, let aside to understand the danger it faces from man, since all the time before it has been given food by man! then they feel proud of themselves

as for hunters, they are suppossed to stop wearing army uniforms, and actually they should be wearing colours that can be easily seen . i cannot recall if they should wear a vest or a helmet, but in any case it should be distinct from the colours of nature. i am not sure if they are actually following this rule.

Surely people do not have a moral right (even if legal) to go around shooting wild animals that are there for the enjoyment of all. If there was a need for pest control, perhaps - but not seen any mention of it.

The only pests around seem to be the hunters.

ROFL ---

Maybe they should just fence off an area 2 km x 2km and let the hunters in to blast away at each other. Helps keep the public safe. :x
