is this a problem in cyprus? I guess its a problem all over there world but just wondering because when we left the island last week bound for Australia
there was about 15 guys from India/pakistan and they were been escorted by undercover immigration police and we chatted to one of the policemen and he said they had all stayed upto 3yrs after their visa expired, they also did 3mnths prison and were now been sent off home.
Does the govt pay for them to leave?

The Government believe that around 50% of foreign workers are living here illegally. It is common practice for foreign workers to have two different identities; when their Work Permit expires they change identity/passport and apply for a new Permit.

All illegal immigrants, asylum seekers and Islamic extremists have apologised, paid all their back taxes and are returning to their homelands.
