population

Postby erico » Wed Oct 25, 2006 11:00 am

I have seen various statements as to what the population of Cyprus actually is. There seems to be nothing accurate, although 700,000 seems to be the common opinion. And this appears to be split 80%-20% between Greek and Turkish Cypriots. But does this take into account the enormous English and Russian speaking populations? And if not, what then is the true population??? Any opinions or answers?

700.000 in the free areas. We can't know exactly how many they are in occupied areas. We had a census in 2001 http://www.mof.gov.cy/mof/cYSTat/STATIs ... t&sub=2&e= try the excel files at the bottom for detailed info.
