A baby born in Cyprus , just like in most countries , should by birth right have the citizenship of the country in which the birth took place , I see no reason why it should be any other way in Cyprus.
A baby born in the unrecognized part of Cyprus , still would have the right to Cypriot citizenship since the ROC considers , just as the rest of the international community does , that that part of Cyprus is Cypriot territory where the ROC has no control over due to the occupation by Turkey. Look , realities have to be faced .
The International bodies including Turkeys staunchest allies ie the USA and Britain do not recognise the occupied part of Cyprus as a legal entity. It can not issue passports to its citizens neither can it have consulates in any countries worldwide and neither can it issue its own currency.
Babies born in any part of Cyprus are considered legally to be Cypriots and can demand their rights in European and local courts . To the best of my knowledge any Cypriot Turk born in Cyprus has an automatic right to a Cypriot passport , perhaps the more acquainted with such matters like Kifeas , Piratis or Bananiot can enlighten the rest of us.
