I wouldn't oppose to going back. I know everyone talks about how Makarios changed it or tried to and blah blah but now he is dead and a lot of GC's see the bad he did along with what good he might have done. He is not God in our eyes anymore, so I believe there is a chance. But everyone involved, has to be open for it.

It is quite obvious that it is not as simple as going back to the 1960 constitution, there are many factors that do not allow such a process to happen. Land disputes are the biggest factor, and the fact that these two factions have been living apart for so long is another. To over simplify the situation is wrong imo.

The treaty of guarantee also prohibited Union with Greece...

as you have so kindly bolded....

So please Piratis, tell the whole story, not half of it...

Half? We are forcefuly partitioned for 32 years. Do you claim that we had union with Greece for another 32?

In fact such thing had never happened. There was an illegal coup which tried to kill our president and then within 5 days the Turkish invasion happened.

The fact that your were unable to accomplish your goal of enosis does not automatically cancel out the fact that the GCs also want to go against the constitution so get off your high horse and start to take the blame for act which contributed to the final outcome.

My friend, our democratically elected president has opposed the coup and this is why they tried to kill him. How are we, all GCs, responsible because a coup happened??? We didn't support the coup then, and we do not support it now. Unlike you who celebrate the illegal invasion and our ethnic cleansing every year.

Turkey found an excuse with the coup to divide Cyprus according to plans since before the 50s. Everything else is just cheap excuses.
