One of my neighbours ( Cypriot ) earns £700 a month doing the same job -- builder and a skilled plasterer /renderer and he recons he's on a better than average rate for the job.
Another neighbour is a IT team leader and he's very happy with his £950 a month.
So that should give you a good idea of wages in Cyprus --- also it's getting more expensive to live here --- weekly shopping bills are nearly on par with UK prices.
As Svetlana mentioned you will be in competition with Eastern European building workers who will ( and do ) work for peanuts compared to UK rates
You won't have to pay income tax as your earnings will be too low but you will pay national insurance -- but I've no idea how much that will be
