I must interject here many many people who have purchased property through recognised solicitirs have been let down by virtue of the fact that their solicitor has not obtained the Title Deeds to the said property, this most certainly would not be allowed in the UK, the said solicitor would be struck off if this was the UK.
We stayed in a property in November that had been purchased 15 years ago, the owners still have not opbtained the title deeds from Leptos.
Leptos are now trying to charge the owners on the current value of the property before they will hand over the title deeds.
Regarding Buy Sell, I took a list of 20 properties into their TOKs road office, I said "I only want to view properties with title deeds", 16 dissapeared from the list.
In so many cases the property you have bought in good faith has been re-mortgaged by the developer, this is a common practice not isolated.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and after a few months of reading everyone else's opinions I couldn't hold back any longer!

The recent thread on estate agents is worrying for those of us who have recently bought property in Cyprus thinking we have done our homework and used companies/solicitors which appear to be as reputable as they can be (and who can say that haven't ever had problems with estate agents?!). Although we purchased our property following consultation with BuySell we did use a solicitor which appeared on the British Consulate's recommended list, which I hoped would be of some reassurance.

Surely there are people out there who have had positive experiences with companies such as MyProperty and BuySell??!!
