Postby mountainman » Sat Oct 14, 2006 8:26 am

Hi,
Does anyone out there have the email address of the chairman of Cyprus Airways, a friend of mine is having a problem and no-one at CA seems to care.

Don't waste your time with that. Even if you find his email he will not read it. And even if he reads it he will not reply! Try to call them or go to their main offices.

If he has a grievance and he is right, he should deliver them a letter either by hand in front of a witness or send it as "Double Registered". An e.mail would not be binding in court and hence they would not take any notice. This is how I do it in TRNC if I want to get anything done. North or south makes no difference, same mentality.

Thanks for the info.
I'm not sure that court action would be viable, but i feel that a flagship company operating in their home country should deal honourably with it's customers and not quote one price and demand four times as much again once their customer has committed.

If i cannot get satisfaction for my friend, then I will make it my business to 'bad mouth' Cyprus Airways as much as possible via the internet.
They may con a few pounds from one insignificant customer but i am sure they will lose much more by the time i have finished.

Many years ago, 1974 to be exact, I went to the offices of Olympic Airways at Tottenham Court Road and booked our flight to Cyprus for July 13th, 1974. That was two months in advance. They did not want any deposit but I insisted to pay and did so against a receipt. I was supposed to obtain the ticket two weeks before the flight. When the time came I went to the same office to get my tickets and I was told that the flight was fully booked, would I like a booking for later? I refused and I said that I was going to make a booking with British Airways for the same date. They assured me that BA would be fully booked up too. I told them that I could definitely get first class places. "Ah but that will be too expensive" they told me. I answered back, "No problem, you are going to pay the difference". They got the point and they booked me on a days flight instead the evening and they paid the slight difference.
Funny thing, We had to make the return flight with Hercules Transport Plane from Akrotiri. I asked for the return fare back and they offered me half the ticket price less 20% for cancellation. I took them to court and got a full refund plus expenses, including the price of the book "How to sue in a County Court".
Ah well, it is very handy if your hobby is law :)

go and see them directly. i sent a letter to the ministry of interior by akis express hand delivered with receipt to their door. this was 6 months ago. like all government depts i am still waiting for a reply. i gave up in the end. these people are far to busy either running their companies in their wives names or buying designer gear for their girlfriends.
