How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

and precisely , that is my point. he lied and people at very high percentages still voted for him. and the reason is simple: people dont vote having the cyppro in mind.

imo, clerides ideas and past were there for everybody to read (despite his election slogans) . he was considered a moderate since the 1960s. he was even considered (and was) more moderate than makarios. the fact that in the end, those who wanted to overthrow makarios because he was a moderate ended up voting for clerides, proves once again their level of stupidity.

(even koutsou voted for him, but became his worse critic, after he was refused a ministry position Laughing )

Once again, you are concentrating on GC internal politics which is NOT the subject neither of this forum nor of this topic.
I don’t see any argument whether what you said constitutes a perfect "democracy" or a fague "democracy"

This section is NOT about Politics and elections. It is about the Cyprus problem.Show some respect to the TC PARTICIPANTS who know nothing and care less for what you are talking about

I think the thread is about democracy as part of solving the Cyprus problem so this is the correct section! Anybody prefers something different from democracy for the future united Cyprus? I think even Viewpoint likes democracy as long as those that administer it are not elected in a democratic way  :?

Sotos, you hit the nail on the head with your comment. I couldn't have put it better.

Some people only accept democracy as a word, not the essence, in the same way they accept the word "unification".

When dealing with GC underhand tactics aimed at creating a totally GC state run by GCs, you are left with no alternative but to ask for as many safety valves as possible to ensure that they do no repeat the past in the future. This was clear in the 1960s agreements which you tired to demolish and again in the Annan plan which were made tighter to ensure you did not try to wriggle out of your undertakings yet again, that's why you rejected them as you knew you had to adhere to the agreement you signed.

Greek Cypriots are so bad! The world would be so nice and peaceful if everybody was as good as the Turks. Maybe you should exterminate the evil Greek Cypriots like you did with the evil Armenians! Then the perfect Turks will not have to mix with inferior races ;)

Sotos, you seem to have a talent in talking "pure shit" sometimes, which is sad, because other times, you can talk "good shit".!!

All the Greek NGOs believe that the problems of racism and discrimination
remain unsolved. This is proved by the research of EUROSTAT according to which Greeks have the highest ratings of xenophobia in Europe, amounting to 80% of the total population of the country. Migrants, refugees, ethnic minorities and Roma are socially excluded
and don’t feel that the state and the Greek citizens treat them as equal. Concerning migrants, after so many years there is no reason to state that migration is a new phenomenon for Greece because now there are structures capable of confronting it as long as there is a decent
migration policy.
