I havent been back to Cyprus at all since 2000. We are thinking of going sometime next year when my daughter will understand a little bit better that she just has to stay seated for 15 hrs :D

I haven't been to Cyprus since 1979, and now I live most of the time in China.

I also want to visit one day, but its damn difficult with work commitments.

1979 ? !!!!
man, god knows what you ve been through as an immigrant, and what you are doing know in china but.... mia psyshi en touti, i evloimeni mia eni! after 30 years of working, you can give yourself 30 days of.
i know i am younger than you and i shouldnt give you advices, but you should really take that trip.

pitsilia, got some better roads, (you will be surprised how short the trip to limassol is now), and many new reinovated houses. but i am afraid that besides, agros, kyperounda and pelendri all the rest of the villages have practically no youth living there any more. i cannot really tell you exactly how ai-giannis is, but i can ask if you want..

Pitsilia is in my opinion the best place in Cyprus (no bias there I assure you). Nicosia to Polystypos is less than an hour by car these days. As you say, no youth living there these days bit some of the villages that came close to dying during the winter a few years ago are experiencing a new spate of life.

cypezokyli i am only an immigrant in china, i am australian born, and and i am 51 years old re.

I love shanghai, its one of the best cities of the world.

well in cyprus i will feel like a stranger as well because i don't really know my relatives which i only have about, according to dad, about 7 first cousins, but countless 2nd cousins in agios giannis, so he says.

i also stayed in sth korea, which gets to -15 degrees in winter, japan and taiwan a lot of the time. also stayed in san jose, down the road form san fran, for a while, which i hated the most

i like asia. i like the peope and most of all i love the food.

but i will try and get to cyprus next summer, its already penned in.

cypezokyli at times its good to be an immigrant because you get to experience other cultures, which are rich in their own way. I have no regrets in moving around from place to place, but my family, i sense is getting a bit tired , and me getting old.

I put in for a transfer back to australia next year and most likely I will be moving back.

that sounds like an exciting life.

you can trust your dad about your 100 second cousins

but you are right. if you are australian born , then it is very different.
(i thought you grew up in ai-gianni)
