Superpowers throughout history tended to look after their own interests first and foremost , just like a business that in order to survive it has to look after its interests. The problem in Cyprus is that the majority of people are too preoccupied with ideals and their imaginary notions of motherland crap. They steadfastly deny them selves their birthright , their true identity while aspiring to be part of foreign nations with whom we have so much in common and yet at the same time so little.
Brittain and America have done what every other past superpower has done.Take care of them selves and f..k the rest , nothing wrong with that , but the week have to be smart enough as not to appear to be part of the "rest".
Forging useless alliances with nobodies is not congenial with looking after our interests. Supporting the enemies of the West is a disgrace that future generations will criticize harshly.

Let us be thankful that our economy and our people , unfortunately not all of our people , are enjoying a standard of living that it was unimaginable a few years back. And we all know the source of our bread and butter as well as the jam. And it ain't bloody Greece , Turkey , M.East , or bloody Cuba.

I'm going to go out now, to kick the shit out of some kid, to take his sweets away from him. I'm a "Super Power" to the kid after all, so that will justify my actions.!!!

Kikapu , for an intelligent man what is this that you wrote , childish and beyond the realms of sensible comparison .

My friend Miltiades,

I was in a hurry when I answered your post in a "childish" way. I have a little bit more time now, so let me address your post in a "mature" way. I could have accused the US and UK as "BULLIES" also, but perhaps that would also be too "childish".

First of all, you went on and on as to why your fellow Cypriots bash the US before and now and why we don't try harder to be their best friends, love their foreign policy, and accept the results, from the outcome, of those policies. As an American, I love the USA, but despise some of our foreign policies. So you want us to accept "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" what the US and UK does, just because they are "Super Powers".

As a matter of fact, one should always remember when it comes to the US Government. They are users. They will befriend a nation to serve their purpose, perhaps against another nation that they don't like, and when those objections are met, often the friendship is over. Lets not forget what has happened to Saddam, who was our friend against Iran. Then Noriega of Panama, he was also our friend for long time. We had acted against Democratically elected officials in countries like Chile, Venezuela, Grenada, Nicaragua and others. So when you said there was nothing wrong with US and UK to take actions against others to serve their purpose and F**k everyone else, I thought, well in that case, I can go and beat the shit out of a little kid, to take away from him what I wanted, which was his sweets, but you found this to be too "childish", and yet, you want to give a "Free Pass" to any Super Power who does the same.

At the end of the day, it will be exactly that. The end.

Clever monkeys with strange ideas about their reason, purpose and idea of what their existence here should be can soon soil their planet of birth.

Have a look at the reality. Are the Islamic voodoo beardies, Stalinist bad hair jobs or US fundamentalist neo cons going to give us this?
