ILLOGICAL POSITION

Benefits and problems from the EU membership.

MarsdenCuckoo, anybody can have an opinion, but you need to understand that you lack even the basic understanding. You having an opinion on the Cyprus issue is like me having an opinion about the best way to construct nuclear reactors.

What you say truly makes no sense at all. Why Turkey invaded? Why Hitler invaded? Invasions do happen, and you taking the side of the invader who illegally occupies our country is provocative and naturally creates a negative reaction against you.

As for 'ethnically cleansing' - I always thought that was a euphamism for being killed so one can be either 'ethnically cleansed' or 'moved' - not both!

What you say above is just one more example that you are not well informed not just about Cyprus, but on the topic of invasions, ethnic cleansing, illegal occupations etc.

Here is what ethnic cleansing is:

The term ethnic cleansing refers to various policies of forcibly removing people of another ethnic group. At one end of the spectrum, it is virtually indistinguishable from forced emigration and population transfer, while at the other it merges with deportation and genocide.

In sensitive issues like this one I would suggest to learn a thing or two before expressing your opinion.

Right now you sound like your only aim is to excuse the illegalities forced on our country. Some others who have to gain from these illegalities (Turks, TCs and some foreigners that illegally bought GC land in the occupied areas) also support these illegalities but you have to understand the reasons behind their lame excuses.

If they had any right in their support for the illegal puppet state that Turkey forcefully and illegally created on the northern part of our country then their so called "TRNC" would have been recognized by other countries long time ago. Not only that didn't happen, but the "TRNC" is declared as legally invalid by the UN, why do you think is that?

Kifeas

You keep trying to blur he edges with these two figures, one of 18% and the other 37%.

One is the population of TCs and the other the amount of land we have. Your maths is all wrong. Not all the rest of the land is owned by the GC people but by the state. Sooooo, if you take the 18% and add a proper percentage of the free land I think we might arrive at about 37%. At a guess at this time of night I would say we are owed some more but lets not haggle. You can keep the rest. Call it a wedding present for when you finally find a girl to settle down with (God help her).

Oooeeerrr.... getting 'two'd now!

I bow to your greater (and possibly personal) knowledge guys, (and thanks for keeping the abuse to a minimum this time!), however....

Like many others, I hate being patronised, talked down to and/or bullied by blinkered people hell-bent on telling their version of events. There are always two sides to every story; maybe, if you were both more receptive to the other side's version then we might be making some progress. Oh.... was that a pig flying by?!?

Christine

PS: Message from hubbie "You're both arrogant b*st*rds. Why don't you look at the TC side as well - both sides suffered - you seem to think only you exist or have a right to Cyprus." :!:

Oh shut up!

You can't be so stupid! It's unbelievable!

You must be a really very low IQ person indeed!

In your logic, the GCs are the 82%, and (I am using your own foolish words now,) add a proper percentage of the free land, I think we may arrive at about 164% of Cyprus!

You are indeed the stupidest person I have ever met in my life!

   :P

Zan, there is no such thing as "free land" that Turks can freely grab. Did you get into the nonsense mood along with MarsdenCuckoo?

MarsdenCuckoo, a story can have many versions. But that is not the case with legality. The occupation of Cyprus by turkey is illegal, the declaration of the pseudo state of "trnc" is illegal, the Turkish troops are in Cyprus illegally, the whole island of Cyprus belongs to Republic of Cyprus and there is no second state on our island. All these are not an opinion, they are FACTS

So are we going to base our arguments on facts, or just say random baseless opinions just for the sake of it, with the aim to offend the victims of the above illegalities.

I have not been abusive toward you, I just pointed out yet another fact: That your understanding of the issue discussed is close to nothing.

However tell your hubbie that if you can be offending, I can be offending to.
If facts are not essential for you, and all you care is to have an opinion even without knowing the facts, let me know. I will show how baseless clueless opinions can be offending.
