Which is the highest possible speed you can get with Cyprus broadband today?

Is ADSL over 1.5Mbits available from any company? Which is the best broadband ISP in Cyprus?

You can get very high speed broadband via satellite but it is expensive.

It’s not affected by the weather.

But a 2M connection with a 512kbps uplink (for instance) costs over six hundred Pounds per month.

Speeds of 4M download and 2M uplink are available.

Nothing...

Our entry-level package is £50 + VAT for 512K download & 128K upload.

Sorry.

i`m using www.netway.com.cy over the i-choice service.

Unless you are a bit-torrent monster or watching a lot of streaming high-resolution stuff then a lot of the capacity in a "big bandwidth" connections is not used.

In the UK i had 4Mb/256kb, over here i have 1mb/128kb and i only notice the difference when downloading large files.

On average the ping time is approximately 150ms from my house to a town just North of London which is probably too high for gaming but VoIP is fine for me using Skype, MSN Live Mess. or Vonage.

CyprusGrump - what is the ping time using satellite ?
