Muslim Activities in Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

miltiades wrote:observer , dont be ridiculous , the Orthodox Church is taken with a pinch of salt by most Cypriots .I have seen the light and reject wholeheartedly the mythology of God and prophets , I consider such idolatry to be one of the cancers causing wars and strife the world over. We most certainly do not need fanatics in Cyprus spreading hatred . Religion has been the cause of all evils in the world , it is today and it was thousands of years ago.

I do not reject god, but my relationship with him is personal, and not to be dictated by any religion...

Religion of all types is about control and money..

they tell people what to do

they own lots of land

they have lots of money

How often do you see that money/land given to the poor?

Yes they preach it, but they dont live it..

There is a church in the video which they took a picture of. I don't think they were in the church. It's not a crime to take pictures of a church. As far as I know there are a lot more Saudis and Pakistanis in the south than in the north. If they are a threat, why don't you kick them out?

i believe to the greek science and civilisation not to the rotten christian/islam cults but i see pictures on this video that do not fit with cyprus but with fascist regimes like in iran and elsewhere

I'm not a defender of Islam or any other religion, because I don't believe in any of them. But this doesn't change the fact that you are grossly exaggerating. You saw a few man with beards in a video and you are using this as an excuse to make some illiterate comments about the TCs.

You did not answer me. What do you propose to do with bearded guys in the south? I also see women in veils sometimes in the south. ( I can tell you this, there are no Turkish Cypriot women wearing veils. )

Cypriot properties in the south are being actively marketed in Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries. GCs are actively trading in large volumes with these people. You benefit from their money. They in general don't support Turkey in Cyprus problem. Actually, GCs are more closely involved with them. Before going after 3 bearded guys in a video, I suggest you first consider this.

Sadik , Cyprus , all of Cyprus has no place for radical religious fanatics , be it Muslims , Christians or of other faiths.
The T/Cs have never been fanatical for their faith , they follow it just as the G/Cs do theirs more out of tradition than blind faith.

tcs, are in general less religious than we are.
so your association of islamist -terrorists with tcs, simply shows limited knowledge of the tc society

Hi Andri-Cy, I completely agree, and I think that in Cyprus, thats how people feel...they're Chritian, but the Church and the 'politics' of Cyprus are pretty seperate....(Although I've never come across any priest who advocates 'hating each other' and a Cyprus without the TC's....)

Peace! :)

Hi Miltiades, I think I agree....I believe most people are Christian, and do believe in the church, but not in a fanatical way, and it's just part of their life...it's a tradition, part of the culture....(Hopefully I'm making some sense...:P)

Peace! :)

Although I would add the modification that it is the misuse of religion, rather than the message of the Gospels and the Quran, that cause the problems.

I agree!! :D
