Today is World Animal Day. Shame its a hunting day too.

I'll be taking my dog out for an extra long walk today as a big treat.

My 2 dogs and 2 cats have been vaccinated against 'rabies??' today in preparation for our move to Cyprus July 2007. Pet passport etc.

A big step for us towards our goal.

Also extra long walk and big cuddles.

One day for animals and the rest for humans. Isn't this unfair? :P

Well dont you know it. My dog is probably going to have her puppies tonight :D. She is acting like it anyway but this is only the third time I have ever had a pregnant dog.

My dogs got an extra special treat on Wednesday. A great big knucle bone from the butchers. I didn't hear a peep out of them all day, till I took them out later.

Niki, please be careful with your cats when they arrive...

Mine only lived a month and 6 weeks before they were both poisoned...

I would highly suggest keeping them in the house if possible...

When you get here check with neighbours who have pets what the local problems are, as I wish I had rehomed by two boys in uk instead of bringing them here...

:(

I have heard this.

It is so difficult - it would break my children's hearts if we had to leave them and it would be worse if they were poisoned. I plan to move to an area where there are other pet owners and to be honest they tend to be Brits in Cyprus which is a shame as we don't want to live just near Brits. I also heard that the more remote villages are more likely to poison?

We have considered turning them into house cats if we bring them. Not ideal but safer for them.

Well wev'e got 11 cats and 8 dogs and i'm not leaving them behind - If I had to do that I wouldn't go. We have bought agricultrual land approx 3.5 acres and having our own house built in the Arodes region of Pafos, in order that we have our own land around us and we are safe -??? I hope.
