has anyone read the book bitter lemons just got it off e bay a very old copy as well very good so far its about cyprus in the 50 s

i finished it about 2 weeks ago - really sad in the end
I enjoyed it and it was nice to hear about life in bellapais as that is my grandfathers village
i was there last week and saw the 'tree of idleness' would have loved to have seen his house in the village but didnt know where to start!

This was a book I really enjoyed, I read it about 15 years ago at a time when we couldn't get to Kyrenia. It was good to get to that area 2 years ago and see the areas I had read about.
