the arabic subtitles don't bother me, i'm so used to seeing the greek ones :eyecrazy:

There's a very good selection of english channels to choose from, as well as arabic, but even some of them have english programmes.

If you need a card for showtime, they are a fraction of the price in Egypt that they are here...

Before we came here we asked Sky if we could bring our box with us (OK I know we were/are v naive. Their response was 'no point; we're not licenced for anywhere other than the UK' so we left it behind. Based on other people's comments, however, re. it generally being accepted, I subsequently bought a 2nd-hand Sky box in UK and brought it back with me... only for it to be then disconnected as soon as they realised I was telephoning them (re. a connection problem) from an overseas tel. no....... So, back to square one!

Have seen an advert in the paper offering BBC Prime etc (1m dish), movie channels and more - appears to only involve a one-off fee? Anyone got any experience of this?

lol, you mean you didnt disable clid...

whoops..

The chap i mentioned on page 1, has a number of inovative solutions to sky telephone connections and you can use voip stuff for ringing them so it appears you have a UK number...

I havent had a problem in 9 months with my sky+ 160 box, and I called them to reactivate the card in the new box..
