Grivas was a Nazi

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Grivas was a Nazi

Postby EUropean666 » Tue Sep 19, 2006 2:25 pm

Maybe some cypriots do not know it but General Grivas was invovled in the terrorist organisation X that was active during the nazi era in Athens.

Chris Woodhouse who have served in Greece during the war said about Grivas activities.

The following are in Greek, coz there is not english text for this case.

it is well known that greex never liked grivas and other right wing scums that were in the SS service along with other politicians like Rallis, Evert and other famous right wing politicians who served as Nazi governors in Greece in 1941-1945

Probably Grivas did collaborate with the Germans because he was a compulsive anti communist and the communists controlled the main resistance group called ELAS.

The supporters of Grivas will tell you that Grivas played his part in averting a communist take over in Greece. Had the communists succeeded, they will tell you, Greece today would be no better than Romania or Bulgaria or indeed Moldova.

Are there people who support Grivas? If Grivas was a Nazi then why was his name given to an avenue in Nicosia " Griva Digeni avenue"

I dont understand this! Why an avenue is called with his name If he was a Nazi?

I suppose cause they still believe that whatever he was he still fought the british in 1955-1960 and was EOKA's leader. I personally believe that he doesnt deserve it because his bad outweighs his good and they need to rename the street.

The demcratic army till 1946 was purely centre-leftis with people from different ideologies. KKE got invovled after 1946 when british fascists replaced the nazis and committed the same types of crimes.
