Turkish Grand Prix org. have been fined a record $5 mil

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby MR-from-NG » Tue Sep 19, 2006 4:08 pm

It was probably the most expensive 2 second meaningless and fruitless publicity of Talat as "president" of the "TRNC!"

This is equal to me getting a £5.00 fine for parking on double yellows in the middle of the West-End. I would park there all day every day for the rest of my life.

It was money well spent and $5 million to the guys behind the Turkish F1 is peanuts.

My wife is an Advocate and usually I have the time to go to the Inland Revenue and pay a day's salary for any Civil Servant that she wans called as a witness. So I have a ery good idea.

Of course who am I to argue with Kifeas who wrote:
Not in their wildest dreams the average "TRNC" public servant see $1500 as a monthly salary!

Ignorance is not too bad if you are willing to learn but in my opinion obstinate ignorance is an incurable desease. No problem, we can live with them side by side but hopefully under the circumstances not mixed :)

Who are the 'them' that you refer to? Are you generalising that all GCs are ignorant? Are you guilty of obstinate ignorance?

Elko, the average monthly salary of a "TRNC" employee cannot be US $1,500! For sure there are employees that get that much and even more than that, but this fact doesn't make the average salary as much! Perhaps if you make it 1,500 NTL you may come closer, but still I feel it is even less than that!

The cost of 5million USD for 2.5 minutes of TRNC fame is a bargin in comparison to the exposure that it raised, 203 TV channels all over the world an average cost of avertising is 3500 usd per second making the total value of this exposure 106million USD wow very cheap dont you think, maybe we should repeat it again next time

oh you got exposure . exposure that: turkey invaded cyprus, turkey occupies a third of the island, TRNC is only recognized by turkey therefore doesnt exist, and the ROC is recognized by everybody, and finally that turkey is very.. trustworthy.. right? oh wait, i think its the other way around.

thats what i read in every single article, apart from the fine and all that crap

please do it again

you know what other exposure you're getting? its all over the news(international, that is) that the cyprus problem is a potential dealbreaker between turkey and the EU.. and of course, all the articles mention why. may i freshen your memory? because turkey illegally occupies a third of the island, which nobody recognizes because its crystal clear to everybody that the only government in cyprus is.. the ROC.. oh wait.. i guess everybody is stupid... eh?

give me a break dude... i mean.. come on

Why are you so upset if it doesnt make a difference are you maybe thinking the world may think there is another side to this story not just the crap the GC have been feeding us, there are also these TC in the own country trying to live peacefully god those GCs must have done something real bad for these people to want their own state. They are prepared to live in isolation and embargos just so as not to be exposed to GC domination and discrimination. Lets rethink this whole thing, maybe we should recognize this country....

Who rattled your cage?, we are better off now than we were living ghettos and under GC domination and discrimination, living with the fear of being part of Greece or being shot dead in cold blood. The 32 years have brought us a peaceful exisistence, so we have 1 TV less that you or go eat in a restaruant 2 times a weeks instead of 4 so what, the bottom line is we feel safe and its obvious you find our ally Turkey very difficult to stomach due to obvious reasons. Even this little opportunity for the world to hear we exisist make your blood run cold...who knows what the future will bring.

Kifeas,
Elko is right. Civil Servants in the North have had their salaries posted to near UK levels. We in the North are in the anomalous position of having a wage disparity between private and public sectors where public sector employees are paid much more than those in the private sector. This with the fact that civil servants only work 6 hours a day for five months means everyone in the North wants a Government job!
